YoKenny
.NET Framework is necessary if you use any .NET applications like Paint.net: http://www.paint.net "Education is what remains after one has forgotten everything he learned in school." - Albert Einstein IE7Pro user

Anthony A
.NET Framework is necessary if you use any .NET applications like Paint.net:http://www.paint.net I don't have that crap on my machines and don't miss it. I have only had a few instances where I wanted to try an app but I needed the .NET Framework and I found replacements for those apps easily. I am a big fan of portable apps and thats a no go with bloat ware like the .NET Frame Work. If an app needs the .NET Crapwork than it won't run portably. Moderators Andavari Posted October 18, 2008 Moderators Share Posted October 18, 2008 can I erase the earlier softwares of .NET Framework? I tried that myself sometime last year I think by removing versions 1 and 2 after version 3 was released. End result I ended up having to put them right back on the system because the .NET software I used did require them.
