  2. Ah thanks. I use Notepad++, but I didn't know how to do that in it. Thanks.
  3. How about just adding a warning on it?
  4. Fixed: https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/commit/3e0f8729dde78c47fc8c8252de0ce0925376353d https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/commit/f9596fab6334309171cd7136e629d8e9072a8a3e The fixed for OpenOffice was tested on mine and Andrew's system, and it worked on both. By the way, do you use some kind of tool that counts the number of entries or do you count them yourself?
  5. Hi Robert. Some fixes to Winapp2: https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/commit/9d2a2dfb68ec7094a188ef066e5917e6ca932f2b
  6. 3 days later and it seems everything is connecting through https where it is supported, so I guess you really don't need https everywhere installed. That just leaves me with uBlock Origin as my only addon. Thanks guys for clarifying this.
  7. They didn't update the homepage on my end, yet, but you can download it from here: https://sourceforge.net/p/sevenzip/discussion/45797/thread/b6a10dbd/ That is where the link on the homepage will take you to, anyways. Also, in case anyone is still wondering about the version number scheme, they decided to do year.revision number scheme, which is why there was such a big jump between 9.x to 15.x. So it is 2016 and this is the 3rd revision, so thus the number scheme for this update is 16.03. Hope that helps anyone who may still be wondering.
  8. Thanks for clarifying. I will go ahead and disable https everywhere and see how it works out.
  9. Just to clarify, this isn't just specific to Firefox. It also applies to all of its sister projects, like Pale Moon, Waterfox, SeaMonkey, etc, as well as Chrome and all of its sister projects, too, probably including Chromium, too. Perhaps maybe it is a better idea to put this in a new thread to notify all of us SSD users.
  10. I actually don't mind. It gives me something to do on my free time, haha. But I understand what you mean and I will slow down so people can say "Hey that's not right!".

  12. I use Kodi and it is actually quite nice, though it isn't just for Linux mint. It is completely cross-platform. Anyways, it's like you are getting free TV and movies and all that.
  13. If the software is a branch of another entry, I compare it with that entry and make sure the file paths/detects are correct. If I know the software, I will test it directly. I wanted to use GitHub as more a development branch type thing, so it would be consider beta/unstable and let Robert continue to update Winapp2 on his website, which would be considered the stable builds of Winapp2, but I have not heard from Robert in quite sometime. I assume he is busy with real life and doesn't have much time to come here. Maybe I will wait 24 hours or so before adding a entry?
  14. I think what you are seeing is maybe the sites you go to easily encourage the use of https by making it the default connection. I am not aware of FF actually forcing the use of https by default. Maybe there is a way to do it in about:config or something, but I have never been able to figure that out. Unfortunately, using https is a little more then just putting the s at the end of http. Some sites might have support for https, but do not encourage the use of it because of older systems where https is non-existent or maybe system where only SSL/TSL1.0 is used, which are not secure anyways. Anyways, if you do see a way to use https in Firefox with the need of a plugin, please share as I like to my plugins as minimal as possible.
  15. Are you sure? When I don't have the plugin installed, some sites still load as http instead of https. Do you have to do some tweaking in about:config to get this to work in FF?

  17. I read some of these older comments and I just got to laugh. If you want a secure Firefox while still maintaining good performance on it, consider using something like HTTPS everywhere so you only access sites through secure connections (where available), consider using a more generalized blocking tool, like uBlock Origin, to block malware sites, ads, tracking, etc, and lastly, consider getting rid of flash player and using VLC Player instead. I have been using VLC Player as my only codec for playing video content on the web and so far every site I went on runs on VLC Player just fine. Believe me, you wouldn't even know how much more Firefox is more secure without Flash Player. Don't have to worry about flash based attacks and all those security holes in flash player (while there are a few in VLC, sure, what program doesn't have any, but they are far less severe and there are a lot less in general). I have been using this setup for years and I have never has any performance degrade and never had any malware problems through Firefox. Not too mention Firefox is pretty secure by default, as it has a large community/team and it's open-source.

  19. I am glad I don't use yahoo anymore. I switched to DuckDuckGo for a search engine and ProtonMail for email and have been satisfied ever since. I think Yahoo gets hit by attacks more then any other search engine/mail server on the web. I heard recently Verizon bought them out, so I wonder if that will change at all. I would how that will also effect Yahoo and DuckDuckGo's partnership. I also noticed that they denied Microsoft's aquiration offer of $44.6 billion. I bet they are probably regretting that now.
  20. Updated with my own edit: https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/commit/a46aa933b51287f26473553c051ebc98fb388fdb https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/commit/32700ead2546168e6db2dab85b3f9d116f4d8152

  22. All Linux systems depend on Wine as a compatibility layer to run Windows games/software on Linux systems. I think that is probably the closest Linux will get to being like Windows, in my opinion. Anyways, people always misunderstand Linux. They think Linux is trying to replace Windows and all, when that is not the case. It was never designed to replace Windows and it probably never will be. Both Linux and Windows are very different, probably the exact opposites of each other, so it's hard to like them both. People who are Linux fans will find it hard to like Windows and people who are Windows fans will find it hard to like Linux and it probably will always be like that. Besides, Linux doesn't have a worldwide marketing gimmick like Windows does, so new comers to the PC world don't even know Linux exists until they are already use to Windows, so Linux never had much of a chance to replace Windows, to begin with. I think the best setup is to just dual boot. 1 OS for Windows, 1 for Linux.
  23. By the way, does anyone know if ext2 will work on my 1TB SSD? I know it's a flash friendly file system, but I also know it's quite old (1999) and I want to know if it's OK for a heavy gamer like me (like the limits and everything). I checked the wiki page and it says this: Max volume size 2 - 32Tib, Max size size 16Gib - 2 Tib. I don't get what it means as usually file systems only have 1 number in their limits. I assume it means older version of ext2 have lower limits and newer versions have higher limits?
  24. I have came to the conclusion many years ago that no Linux system is a good replacement for Windows/Mac systems. Linux will always be its own system. I mean I know there are some Linux branches, like ZorinOS, that try to mimic Windows/Mac systems as much as possible, but even those I don't find as good replacements. Linux systems are just Linux systems and is best to just categorize them as that. Anyways, Linux Mint is a pretty neat system, but it's more of those tech savy/programmers only type systems, in my opinion.
  25. I am actually on a Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB, if you were including me in that phrase. But if XP could run modern hardware and games (OpenGL 4.5, Vulkan, Direct X 12, etc) I would use that instead. I notice ReactOS also depends on Wine, so I guess it is whatever games can run on Wine will be able to run on ReactOS.
