  1. I've just surfed the net for like 15 minutes. I'll CClean (or remove temps by any method) when I'm finished. Now in the morning, before I leave for work I'll be on for a few minutes again. Will I be re-writing over the same part of the disk?

  4. in freeware sites. Very few hits. Any suggestions? Best one was only five bucks (30 day free trial also), however, when I mocked purchasing it their site wasn't http(s)!

    Freeware!

This is a harmless, simple but efficient mail notifier that sits in and notifys you via your system tray. Have been using it for about eight months. works great! http://www.poptray.org/index.php
  6. Not a problem dj! What I'm interested in doing is restoring (if necessary!) a file or folder (I believe there would be two different drop down menus) from the right click menu if I've "cleaned" something, with all these different utilities I use, and I need it back. Some of the programs have a restore function, however, some only back up the file and you would have to restore it yourself. I thought it would be convenient to just right click it and click "restore" if I needed the file back. Hope I explained that clearly enough! I use XP so I can basically restore anything, just thought this would be good for specific things.
  7. to the context menu with this program? http://www.dntsoft.com/ccm/index.html
  8. Well it's gone! I can't believe it. Here is what I think happened. I had conducted a registry search for Paint Shop Pro 8 with RegSeeker and it found about eight or nine references. Now you must understand that I uninstalled that program months ago and have cleaned the registry dozens of times since. Anyway, I run RegistryMechanic (just because I had downloaded the ShellExView program) and it finds about six references to Pro Shop it had never found before. Then I go to issues in CC and it finds a reference, so I clean italso. Then I check the drop down menu and the "Browse...8" is gone! Crazy! It just proves that multiple cleaners is a must. It's like RegSeeker loosened it or something and RM and CC finished it off. lol
  9. Thank You nod32, however, believe it or not, I can't find it in the list. I disabled several context menu listings to make sure I was looking for the right thing and the program works fine but it just isn't there. I also searched the registry with reg seeker for anything Paint Shop Pro 8 and deleted everything it found. Oh well, no big deal!
  10. folder drop down menu. I want to remove "Browse with Paint Shop Pro 8", which one of my children had used the trial version.
  11. I clean my registry all the time. Reg.Mechanic is the bench mark, always finding something several freeware programs don't clean. First run of RS and it found 280 items. I then checked it with RM and it came up a big 0! I think I'm impressed, what do you think?
  12. Adblock list. Any way to configure either program not to do that? Thank You and Goodnight!
  13. Installed DLLArchive from http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/system/dllarch.htm as suggested from 46 Best ever free utilities site http://www.techsupportalert.com/best_46_free_utilities.htm Well, as soon as I started to archive after the scan, I received this scary text box (I should have taken a shot of it) message warning me Windows needs these files and they have been changed and to insert the XP CD and download SP2. It scared the tar out of me so I just restored everything. There is a column headed HITS and all off these files had zero, meaning I suppose they were never used. That is probably one of the search criteria. Should I have left them all archived for a while and seen what, if anything happened or did I do the right thing restoring immediately?
  14. RESOLUTION To resolve this issue, use both of the following methods. Replace the Framedyn.dll File 1. Click Start, and then click Run. 2. In the Open box, type %systemroot%\system32\dllcache, and then click OK. 3. Right-click framedyn.dll, and then click Copy on the shortcut menu that appears. 4. Click Start, and then click Run. 5. In the Open box, type %systemroot%\system32\wbem, and then click OK. 6. On the Edit menu, click Paste. If you are prompted to replace the existing file, click Yes. Verify System Variables 1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu that appears. If you receive the following error message, click OK: rundll32.exe - Unable To Locate Component This application has failed to start because framedyn.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. 2. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab. 3. Click Environment Variables. 4. Under System variables, click Path, and then click Edit. NOTE: If no Path variable is listed, click New. In the Variable name box, type Path. 5. In the Variable value box, type the following: %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\wbem 6. Click OK three times (each time that you have the option). 15. TCP Optimizer, which I have set with their auto program settings (no clue if it helps!) for months now or Cablenut settings?
  16. A couple of weeks ago I was inquiring about an explanation as to why certain pages that open normally with FF are to large when opened with IE. Yahoo is an example. ScreenShot #1 has been accessed with FF and #2 with IE!
  17. Is that because I deleted from the host site? It was there last night!

    Tarun!

I did it! I think! Gadwin PrintScreen > My Pictures > xs.to then upload and copy from code & thumbnail (Forum code for embedding:) then paste it here!
  19. OK, beautiful screenshot! Now please, step by step, how did you do that? I tried making some, however, when I'd preview it there would only be some sort of dialogue, no screenshot.
  20. Dj, I searched *.rcbak files and then deleted them all with Remove On Reboot (http://www.freedownloadsarchive.com/Desktop_Enhancements/Shell_and_Desktop_Management/Remove_on_Reboot_Shell_Extension_13432.html) as per the Reg (sorry Tarun yes, should be an R!) Compact suggestions (http://www.experimentalscene.com/?type=1&id=regcompact) and everything is working fine. Apparently RegCompact is the only thing creating files ending in rcbak. I was able to determine they were RC files by their date obviously, also.
  21. defrags. Are you suggesting not to use GegCompact.Net? Thank You!
