  1. http://extensionroom.mozdev.org/more-info/xscroll Just tried it on IE, would only scroll vertically!
  2. scroll after clicking the mouse wheel, however, not all of the time. So how do you make it do that? Earlier this evening it was working on the Mozilla Support site but now it won't do it. It did it somewhere else also, so I'm thinking it was the way I clicked it or something. I'd install the FF extension, however, it says not to if your mouse already does it.
  3. Try this: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/removereboot.html It always works for me. There is also DeleteDoctor: http://www.topqualityfreeware.com/system33.html However, DD always gave me some sort of text message with an excuse why it couldn't delete the file.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page. http://www.x-raypc.com/
  5. OH, I see. Thank You! Off to work (6:25am in Pennsylvania).
  6. I meant Systernals PageDefrag. It's freeware!
  7. I have XP and 68GB of free space. I defrag once or twice a month. Should I install sysinternals?
  8. If you don't mind the cost of sales tax and a postage stamp, Best Buy is literally offering Fix-Utilities 6 for free this week. I did a search and it sounds like a half decent product. I think I'll get it because I can see myself needing "Includes a free version of Recovery Commander that restores your non-booting system back to normal" some day!
  9. Another way to stop them is to add them to Adblock. They're tricky though, often setup to continually change a series of digits after .com/. You can win the game, however, by using * after the .com or after .com/!
  10. that even with a firewall (ZoneAlarmPro) and a good Anti-Virus program (NOD32) you still need their protection. Do you agree? I was searching a reg cleaner once and it actually directed me to a site with a bunch of porn links and NOD32 immediately launched its ugly red eye and warned me of a trojan.
  11. So do I need all those things or not? I already went back into the folder and deleted windows messenger (which, kind of like Tarun said, I thought I'd uninstalled nine months ago).
  12. But why are there RealPlayer files and other things in there?
  13. So what all is this stuff in a folder called Messenger?
  14. just noticed its 2.11mb folder in my program files. Any harm in totally removing it from my pc? Thank You!
  15. RegSeeker is Freeware. It is also one of the most powerful (too powerful I guess) registry cleaners available. Although it does have a backup option, I've decided to use it only after uninstalls and in the following manner: One of its options is "Find In Registry". I uninstalled Ewido, an anti-trojan program, ran some other reg cleaners and then entered ewido in the find format and it found 11 references. I then used RegistryMechanic, always my benchmark, and it came up 0! I've had similar results before, even after using Mechanic first. I'll probably stay away from it for general reg cleanup or after installs, however, I'll continue to use it in this fashion. Still risky Dj?
  16. I think in this instance, MS was the fickle one! lol
  17. Since the auto update this morning, the v6 update page now functions normally!
  18. Never was able to install manually, however, RegCompact, which I ran this morning, requires reboot and they installed auto when I rebooted!
  19. Have tried twice now to update the update page and I get this error. Also, when I searched the old update page it didn't find any updates. I have XP!
  20. under the Windows tab Advanced menu or anything under Applications tab Windows menu? I keep MS Word and Paint enabled (even though I rarely use them).
  21. As I've said before. you are all great! I'm 57, father of four! They're basically all out of the nest now so I am relying on you all for help. I should get the windows 98 (came with 95 which was terrible), 233mhz out of the basement and see what I can mess up, like restoring an old car.
  22. Correct! Since shredders write zeros over your drive, I am presuming that after you "clean" your computer, via any method (source), that data, files, whatever just keep being re-written on the same general area that has just been cleaned. Or, is my entire internet history (no, its not what you're thinking, the worst sites I visit are a couple of sports message boards) still on my computer? Just curious, because at work I check this site three or four times a day when I should be working! lol
