  1. Yer thanks for the update, i would like to know tho why the long wait tho, i know nothing about programming but i would assume the toolbar and additional languages are added after the program is finished. Yet the version with all the languages and the toolbar gets released first.

I've made InnoSetup installs before, and it's not hard at all to make other versions of an installer. It takes minutes, not days. ;)

  2. The fuss is about a toolbar that no one

    1* Likes

    2* Actually installes

3* The toolbar still being present even tho the users that have been around Ccleaner since the start, helping promote it etc, have clearly stated we don't like it and don't want it. Even if there is non toolbar version available.

4* Holding the slim and basic version back for one reason or another so the downloads of the toolbar version increase.

5* Not making it more obvious there are other non toolbar version available via the Ccleaner homepage or even publishing the other version on fileforum etc.

6* Filehippo which is run by MrG or at least people of whom he works closely with not having a warning of the presence of the toolbar in the version filehippo list. This is despite other programs which filehippo list that have toolbars having toolbars and having the below warning.

    7* I don't like toolbars.

That m8 is what the fuss is about.

    Amen man, amen.

  3. I think someone will have to repack this and send it out without the toolbar if Slim and Basic builds cease, as they already have with this release as of this post. That's uncalled for and very poor customer relations, considering this is now a "business" called "Piriform".

  4. I was hoping to switch to outpost pro a few weeks back, i completely uninstalled ZA and installed outpost pro. Everything went smooth apart from the 3 blue screens i had in the first day, this followed for a few more days until i got rid of it.

They did have a few issues with bluescreens a while back that was related to a problem witha *.dll from WinRAR. They fixed it though. They pay close attention to bug reports and fix them quickly. You may want to do a clean install of the firewall by removing anything Agnitum from your registry.

You're kidding aren't you. I'm one the guys who got interested in OP, and you guided me.

Are you telling me I'm just one of the 3 persons who converted to OP.I'm truly surprised.

    Okay I'm busted! It's been more than 3, I lost count. ;D

  5. I believe this topic is very much out of line and uncalled for. Krit is an asset to the community who gives genuine help and has a good overall knowledge of computer related materials. And if she goes off topic as she provides help, I've always seen it as helping people feel at ease and relax, by adding a personal spin on things. It makes things not feel so strict and will help users who need help realize the issue isn't something to get too worked up about.

Keep up the great work Krit.

  6. The software is still as good as it was before; it isn't "bloated" at all, and however often I use it, it doesn't look "tainted" to me.

I though we had been over this discussion finally - it starts to get really, really, really, really boring...

It is now tainted though. Before it was no adware, no spyware, etc. With the toolbar included that should be removed from the front page.

  7. i don't understand why anyone has those probs with yahoo toolbar... First of all you can uncheck it with install. second if it is allready there you can delete it. a small time effort....

    keep up the good work

Because it bloats once good software and has tainted it.

  8. Okay, one question, and it's a big one:

How well does it actually protect you?

So far I have heard unanimously that Outpost is faster and uses less resources than ZA, but is it as aggressive in doing its job? To me, that is the single most important reason I still use ZAP. Since I have installed ZA Pro, I have literally not gotten a single virus or spyware/adware. NOT ONE. I could honestly delete my av/antispyware and not lose any sleep at night, but I don't just in case... :D

If Outpost lets in even the smallest malicious piece of code, that is enough to totally turn me off, and so far, ZAP is literally perfect in that aspect.

So basically, can any long-time Outpost users (read: Tarun :P) tell me if they ever have anything unwanted get through? This basically makes or breaks my decision to switch over, so I want to be absolutely positive on this one. I do not take my PC security/health lightly.

It will alert you to EVERYTHING that tries to access the Internet. The lists are very easy to configure and their forums have rules with presets as well. You can Allow Once, Block Once, Or.. well. Here, I'll PM you a screenshot of Ventrilo trying to connect to my server.
