  1. Please write down and post the exact error message, word for word. It's pretty easy to remake your boot.ini file :P

This code should work for you IF your Windows installation is in C:\WINNT\

Open a notepad and copy the text below. Paste it inside and save the file as boot.ini This file must be placed in your C:\ root directory.

    [boot loader]timeout=30default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT[operating systems]multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect

  2. Am image that clearly shows a quotation mark and the word reply is hard to understand? The images are so clear and straightforward. Just look at them. It's so simple. Even hovering them tells you what they do.

  3. This regedit code enables a Rename option to appear on the Recycle Bin. Simply open a notepad, paste this code in and Save As... Enable Recycle Rename.reg

    REGEDIT4[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}\ShellFolder]"Attributes"=hex:50,01,00,20"CallForAttributes"=dword:00000000

  4. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete and see if the firefox.exe process is still loaded.

I just tested this and there are no such issues. It only happens if you have Firefox open or the process is still going.

Further testing, I renamed HijackThis.exe to firefox.exe and loaded it. Next I ran CCleaner and did an analysis. It told me Firefox was still running (even though it was actually HijackThis).

Your Firefox is most likely hanging (due to a faulty extension/add-on). Simply kill the firefox process next time.

  5. I think I'll stick with Opera since its more stable. Firefox loves to crash and its extensions are causing the problems although I have never experienced the extensions going crazy on me like this. I got rid of Beta Firefox and its still going crazy after I am using 1.5.04. Don't know why. I dont really care anyways since this computer is stupid anyways. :D Firefox isn't lame but I think this computer is anyways....

Load safe mode for Firefox, backup your bookmarks and then delete your Firefox profile. Then reinstall and you'll be good to go.

  6. Newbie looking for some help with CCleaner. Since running this program I am unable to log into some accts specifically banking and hotmail (haven't tried any others). Says it cannot find server. I ran this same program on older computer that I have and it works fine. Any suggestions? I'm running IE, xp

Did you try running CCleaner at least two or three times with your browsers closed?

  7. All of the PC Maintenance pages on my website are getting a huge update and overhaul. Basically they are becoming version 2.0.

Currently in the beta/RC stage, I am going to have a Hi-Fi and a Lo-Fi version for users to make the best use of.

PC Maintenance - Anti-Malware Professional Release Candidate 1.

Feedback on the layout is welcome. This is pretty much ready to be finalized and the rest of the pages (Lite, Standard and Full) get updated for a live test.

  8. Never have. Here's a list of what I'm using though.

    Adblock Filterset.G Updater 0.3.0.4

    Adblock Plus 0.7.1

    BBCode 0.4.1.3

    CuteMenus - Crystal SVG 1.2

    DictionarySearch 1.5

    Download Manager Tweak 0.7.1

    Nightly Tester Tools 1.1

    Tab Mix Plus 0.3.0.60601

    Web Developer 1.0.2

  9. Just because you're having issues with an application does not mean it's lame.

Did you uninstall your previous version?

It may very well be an extension. Start it in Safe Mode ("C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 2 Beta 1\firefox.exe" -safe-mode) and if it loads just fine, then it could very well be an extension.

Other things to consider are if you've had issues with previous versions of Firefox.
