Considering the sizes of hard drives now-a-days it's not like you're sacrificing anything either.

I actually avoid the Hotfix Uninstaller option as it has removed critical items in the past. I'd prefer to play it safe than risk removing something and later need to uninstall it.

Right click in the generated log within CCleaner and you can save the log to a text file.

Depends on your hardware, plus the options you have selected in the CCleaner software.
-
You'll want to use Avast's free antivirus. AVG misses way too much.
-
Uncheck a lot of things and then run it. VB's powers are very limited and if this is your first run since reinstalling, it will naturally take longer. By unchecking a lot of items and then running the scan, you're helping CCleaner out.

Refer to Lunarsoft.net and get your pc properly cleaned. A third party distributor more than likely was infected.

This is so old even my grandma knows about it.

You guys are off target. By keeping it from loading, he means that when you go to the Task Manager and End Process, it stops the application from loading seconds after termination.
PSKill may help with that, or even Process Explorer

Yep, but they've also patched a lot of the key issues that were presented.
I believe even BlackViper's site is now too outdated to reference and make use of. It seems UPnP is becoming more and more commonly used.
-
You just suggested a program to disable UPnP. Why? Both SSDP and UPnP should be left to Manual. Not Disabled.

UPnP is used for a LOT of applications (uTorrent, MSN/WLM, DC++ and MANY more). Disabling it is not only wrong, it's foolish. Steve Gibson of GRC's an idiot. :\

Windows Media Connect (WMC) allows Universal Plug and Play devices to be used by Windows Media Player. As Universal Plug and Player is considered a security risk, disable this unless you need to use it.

Oh, thought WLM was MSN renamed...
Technically, WLM is MSN8; they just changed a LOT of things in the program.

All you need now is new icons for the Cleaner, Issues, Tools and Options.
Looks really good dude, nice job.

MSN Messenger is a funny piece of software. It somehow keeps on getting worse and worse for every new version. Amazing!
Just the opposite with WLM, it got a lot better. I beta tested it since the start and it has changed a great deal.
Link to a topic about the older betas.

Well to me he made fabricated that it was deeply hidden and hard to get to, yet it's not. The option is readily available if people know how to read.
-
THIS is somehow difficult to figure out?
I agree. The author of that article is a total idiot. It takes a little exploring to find your options, big deal. Use your brain, it's what separates us from the idiots like the author of that article.
-
It would have to be removed from the registry.

3.5 was excellent at detecting trojans and more. Any word on if version 4 can do this?
-
The ini files need to be updated is all.

A few new images is a site redesign? Makes the forums feel terrible and off-balance.
