  1. Okay, what build did you download (there are 3)? Also, are you using Norton by any chance?
  2. Just curious, but what version of CCleaner are you using? Andavari was right, something is screwy.

PM MrG. You didn't miss out on anything. We just got the upgrade to the standard build.
  4. I see. I didn't pay any attention to the other entries, and I forgot that you suggested the update. I couldn't figure out why he was updating it, but now I understand. If I had remembered your suggestion his post wouldn't have confused me. Sorry lokoike I didn't mean so sound under-minding...just a moment of forgetfullness. Thanks for clearing that up.
  5. Updating your DirectX is good, and all but it will not fix your problem. DjLizard's suggestion using Dial-A-Fix to fix your permissions will fix your problem. And yes, I think everyone wants CCleaner to include all users.
  6. When you open CCleaner, and click the Applications Tab...is Macromedia Flash Player checked? If so, uncheck it, and see if that works.
  7. Lord Have Mercy!!!! I copied, and pasted it from another thread...thought it was a direct link. Well, in that case. Scratch my link, and use Andavari's! Andavari catches my typo error, and now my link error's. Many thanks my friend.
  8. We gave the same link called here. I should given a description with the link.
  9. I did defrag recently, and already analyzed again today (just to be sure)...but it doesn't need to be defragged. I'll run the chkdsk now.
  10. That's a very good theory. I like your analysis. If you choose to use IE install SpywareBlaster, and DSOStop2 in order to improve your security.
  11. This bothers me too. The fact that the yahoo toolbar isn't mentioned as part of the standard build really bothers me. It makes MrG look shady, and it's a shame that he is creating this image for himself. It's false advertisement, and I think that it's illegal. Actually, I know that it's illegal. Point taken. And many probably agree.
  12. Should I follow Andavari's suggestions? I did a clean install a week ago (I think it's been a full week).
  13. It just takes a few minutes. I suggested the basic build, and the slim build because neither of them have the toolbar. Click the link that I gave you and download whichever one that you need. Slim build is english only, and the basic build has multi-language options. Pick the one that you need. You won't be able to reinstall the backup (although you probably won't need to anyway). And why would you want to uninstall it. You should run it at least once a week. Too much work, and not necessary. Download one of the toolbar-free builds, and you won't have a toolbar problem. huh? What extra stuff? CCleaner is cleaning crap off of your computer. CCleaner means CrapCleaner! Follow the steps that I gave for downloading, and running CCleaner. Then decide which Antivirus you wish to use. Any more questions?
  14. Nice for you! @JD - I did what you suggested, and it didn't work. Thanks anyway though.
  15. I PM'd rridgley. I'm still waiting.
  16. One more thing. If you want an easy to use Antivirus click Here. Uninstall your antivirus first.
  17. Hi Quark, *Download DAF / Full Version. *Launch dial-a-fix.exe > click tools > click repair permissions > click go > when it's finished reboot. *(again)Launch dial-a-fix.exe > click green check mark (at bottom of screen) > click go > reboot *Now try installing Adobe (although you should install Foxit Reader instead) Here is the HijackThis thread if the above solution doesn't work. Read before posting HijackThis Guide Post HijackThis Log Here
  18. Yes, CCleaner is user friendly. Have you installed CCleaner already? If so, which version, and which build? We suggest that you install CCleaner v1.27 Basic build, or slim build (depending on your language needs). CCleaner Downloads Reboot after installation. Open CCleaner > (leave default settings for now) > click "Run CCleaner" Now click "Issues" (on the left) > click "Scan for Issues" > click "Fix selected Issues" : Answer yes to "Would you like to create a backup?" Save the backup in a place that you won't forget (desktop maybe). After a few days have passed, and you don't need the backup remember to delete it. Feel free to ask any more questions.
  19. Okay! Here's the running theme these days! Download DAF / Full Version. Launch dial-a-fix.exe > click tools > click repair permissions > click go > when it's finished reboot. (again)Launch dial-a-fix.exe > click green check mark (at bottom of screen) > click go > reboot Check all the boxes in "Disk Cleanup" then run disk cleanup. Now defrag then reboot. Now try CCleaner.
  20. I'm noticing a running "Theme" throughout the forum! Forum rules should be modified to the following: If you are having problems. Download/Launch DAF - click green check mark > click go (reboot) -- then Launch DAF again > click Tools > Repair Permissions > click go > reboot. (The other way around) Repair Permissions first! Persisting problems should now be posted!
  21. Maybe I gave you a bad link? Log on as Administrator > then click start > All Programs > Windows Update
  22. ok. check for updates, and if there are some reboot again.
  23. Does this link work? Microsoft SP4 Download-French If it works. Reboot normally, and check for updates. MS Updates - French Reboot normally, and tell me if you succeeded with these steps.
