The newest version does do secure overwrites; it writes random data over what is being removed several times, so that it can't be recovered.
  2. I figured as much. Of course, why you would want to have a French last name, I have no idea. JUST KIDDING!!!! I'm probably gonna get nuked for that one.
  3. You wrote that Hazel Nut became Hazelnut. I wrote: [sarcasm] And wow, "hazelnut"! I would've never come up with that! [/sarcasm] That was sarcasm, because in fact, given enough time, there is a good chance that I would've come up with that.
  4. I dunno... Microsoft might find out; lol.
  5. heh, yeah... you guys can just call me Mike. silence and staring A fine movie, no doubt. No geek should be without.
  6. Yeah, I think JAGO's question was answered somewhere near the start of the thread...

  8. You talking to me? If so, yes, I know you were joking. You just a jokin kinda guy.
  9. Yeah that's what I was thinking. And he is using dual-cores, so that won't be as hot as having a higher clocked single-core. And, if he wants it to stay real nice and cool, he could always cool it with cooking oil. 4 GPUs?! What is that, Ultra SLI? Nothing like 600 FPS in Doom 3. lol
  10. Yeah, that was sort of what I meant when I said that I like bands that actually sing, and I don't like my music too heavy. But as far as not liking the topics sung about, well, that generalization can be made about any type of music. Some genres favor love, some hate, some hos and bling; to say that one topic can get old, well, I don't really agree with that. It is hard to say that any topics and lyrics are original, but then again, as long as they aren't a direct copy of someone else's song, they all are original. To some people, all of the music you (rridgely) listen to all sounds the same; to some people, all of my music sounds the same. But to say that one type is better than another, well, that of course can be argued to the death. I think as long as we can all agree that country and R & B suck, we are good to go. Just kidding. By the way, I am currently listening to Werewolves in London by Warren Zevon, and that is one song that is definitely original! Little ol' lady got mutilated late last night...
  11. Yeah, I had an old FPS type game for PC called Tech War; it was made after a series of books written by William Shatner. The only game in the world (other than Tomb Raider 1 & 2) that ran on my dad's computer (1.5 GB HD, 16 MB of RAM, only cost $2,750; what a deal)! Anyway, it was set up as a CD Extra, so you could put it in your CD player and listen to the music as well; four "awesome rap music tracks!" Actually, it was cheesy techno, but I thought it was the coolest stuff, and I listened to it all the time; ah, the good ol' days.
  12. Yeah, I totally understand the "obsessing". I'm pretty meticulous myself when it comes to upgrades. I personally haven't used that fan, but I wouldn't worry too much about replacing the stock fans unless you plan on overclocking. The stock fans are fine for normal conditions; plus, since you have dual-cores, your CPU should actually run fairly cool (as compared to a proc with one highly clocked core). Sorry I don't know about the product you mentioned, but if it was me, I probably wouldn't even concern myself with that type of upgrade, unless the fans on your case are very poor quality.
  13. Well I sure felt stupid, considering it was SD. I mean, if it had been EDO or DDR, that would've been one thing, since they only have two sections which are of similar size; easy to mistake. But SD has 3 sections, and the top section is much smaller than the other two, so it should've been pretty obvious. Anyway, kind of a backwards argument, since now I'm trying to prove to you guys that I'm more stupid than you think I am.
  14. Thanks for that info, Andavari. I'm still testing it out, so who knows, maybe it will grow on me. I haven't hardly touched the options, so there could be a plethora of usefull little tidbits I never knew about. And thank you for the links to those other media players, Eldmannen. I'll probably check those out as well.
  15. lol, that's funny cause I do too! You guys might think this is retarded, but I've got the music from a bunch of old Sega Genesis games: Sonic 2 Sonic 3 Sonic & Knuckles Sonic Spinball Ranger-X / X-Ranza (best Genesis tunes out there!) Rocket Knight etc. And a few N64 soundtracks: Goldeneye 007 (of course!) Perfect Dark Conker's BFD (I made my own custom Windows sound scheme with the 1-liners too) And it's a good thing Inu-Ya mentioned it; I almost forgot Static-X! Also, Tool is awesome, and I can dig Breaking Benjamin, Three Doors Down, Staind, and Linkin Park.
  16. That's an interesting thought. I've been told that even if you trash your emails in Gmail, they still remain... So, what do you use for email? I'm not too worried about the contents of my letters, so I have no compelling reason to switch over to something else, but do you know of a more secure email system? I used to use Yahoo! Mail, but everything they offer in Yahoo! Mail Plus, Gmail already offers for free, or improves upon.
  17. This update rules, MrG! I'm loving the Windows HotFix Uninstaller cleaner; excellent update, no doubt about it! Keep up the great work!
  18. Well, I tried out Foobar 0.8.3, and while it isn't by any means a poor audio player, I'm not sure it is what I am looking for. As much as I hate to say it, I still like WMP better than it. I have really gotten used to using my WMP toolbar so that I can switch tracks or adjust the in-player volume without having to restore it to the screen first. As far as I can tell, Foobar doesn't offer that. I also thought the visualization window was tacky and of course the default appearance of WMP is far more refined than Foobar. These aren't major complaints, but they do count for something. Also, when using Foobar, I checked it under Task Manager, and it was using around 20 MB of pagefile, whereas WMP only used around 7. I know that rridgely said Foobar uses far less than that, but I wasn't playing a movie; I was simply listening to audio from my library. I won't delete Foobar, as I still want to test it out some more, but as of now, I find that WMP is just a better player when it comes to the look, feel, and ease of use. And you don't know how much I hate to say that! On a more pleasant note, I just realized that Tarun was listening to Ten Thousand Fists, Disturbed's newest album. Very sweet.
  19. 2000 CDs?! That is awesome! It sounds like mostly stuff that I listen to as well. I don't really get into crazy screaming rock, like Zao and Chaos Rising; I like hard rockers that know how to sing, like Disturbed and Sevendust. I can listen to bands like Slipknot, but I have to take it in small doses, otherwise it can get annoying; can't have too much mayhem. I also like some techno-type rock, like Nine Inch Nails, or Dark Soho, but I don't have too much of that in my library. Really, I'll listen to most modern forms of rock, and some classic stuff.
  20. Actually, I knew what it was before I took the time to decipher it. I just looked it over to make sure I was right (the 2 "19 beeps" in a row, and the fact that one word was 4 letters and one was 3, gave it away). But yeah, Klingon sounds like a safe alternative. And it sounds like kobrakommander56 is having "a case of the Mondays"!
  21. Hard Rock is my fav: Korn Mushroomhead Rammstein Disturbed Coal Chamber Rob Zombie Sevendust Metallica Megadeath Powerman 5000 etc. I also like Classic Rock: ACDC Led Zeppelin Guns & Roses Ozzy Osbourne Billy Idol (sometimes) Def Leppard I can put up with some Rap: Eminem Lil John & the Eastside Boys Dr. Dre, Ludacris, Puff Daddy or whatever he calls himself now (not often, but when I'm in the mood) Country & Pop: Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! Punk Rock: Very rarely; almost as bad as country & pop! R & B: We won't go there.
  22. My last name is French, and I don't post THE EXACT SAME LINK ON FOUR DIFFERENT THREADS IN UNDER 15 MINUTES!!! Okay, sorry about that; now I feel better.
  23. So is "Go hang a salami, I'm a lasagna hog", without the punctuation, of course. Thank you Weird Al Yankovik. [sarcasm] And wow, "hazelnut"! I would've never come up with that! [/sarcasm]
  24. My apologies! Thank you, um... folks. Peoples. Dudes and dudetts. Ladies and gentlemen. Masculine and feminen. Males and females. Man and woman. Guy and gal....
