Your investigation is interesting. I commend you for trying the multiple runs to determine your results. When I run defraggler I don't defrag the entire partition. In File list or View files I click path to sort the files, highlight a group and defrag; or ☑Filename and defrag the entire list. This method is very fast and takes only seconds. But I am always left with a frag count higher than zero, which I accept. I don't know why multiple runs would lower the count. Like you, I would like to read an explanation from a techie.

Don't count System Volume Information files, unless elected ☑. Edit. That improvement would substantially reduce future forum post count.

Defraggler counts more files than MS Defragger, such as Sys Vol Info, which are not defraggable. Read here post 2.

gym, I could not open your speccy.doc with any program on my home pc so I just guessed it was the runtime error issue we often see here and that's usually the cure. Am sorry it failed to fix, but hopefully another member can provide a solution. Have a good day.
