I've got some in the front however mine are Dell designed and rather poorly designed since they're difficult to see and plug things into being at an angle and all.

Don't use Firefox though, it won't work, it's Internet Explorer only.
Hence the addition of the ActiveX components I've heard about.

Check your computer manufacturer website for a driver reset program.

Since alot of people complained about this rootkit, Sony have released a tool to remove it. http://cp.sonybmg.com/xcp/english/updates.html
Supposedly using their removal tool will install additional ActiveX components! Therefore who knows exactly what they're doing.
There's also discussion about the Sony BMG rootkit here.

It won't work because the s is missing %allusersprofile%, here's the correction give it a try:
FileKey1=%allusersprofile%\Application Data\DVD Shrink|*.*

It could've just be site maintenance that they were performing when you just happened to visit the site.

Kudos to Glenn for keeping you out of hot water!

Is this evidence of Sony doing naughty things back in 2003 with soundforge?
http://forum.mainconcept.com/viewtopic.php...e8ea4401ec42088
Could just be a screwed up sloppy installer, if you would've seen what Sony did to the cd authoring software HotBurn back in 1998ish you'd know what I mean. However audio products (Players/Editors) are known for wanting certain filetypes and they'll happily steal them at each program launch which is why many players such as Winamp, etc., have the ability to re-register filetypes at startup.

If you pop open your case and write down everything you see on the mobo and then contact a company such as Crucial.com you'll get the correct memory that's for your system. Crucial's website also has a tool to help you get the correct memory, however if you have any doubts or for verification contact them.

Are you using any type of filtering software such as an ad blocker via the browser proxy settings, or some type of real-time anti-spyware/anti-malware protection.
The site could just be messed up, I deal with it all the time when trying to browse many Ford Motor Company car brand websites.

"Perhaps" Microsoft Tweak UI may work to repair the Recent Docs since it has the capability of disabling and enabling document history.
In Tweak UI:
Click 'Explorer', and scroll down to 'Maintain document history', if the check mark is missing click it to reenable the feature, then click 'Apply'.
If 'Maintain document history' already has a check mark in it, disable it and click 'Apply', then reenable it and click 'Apply'.
You may have to logoff, or reboot for the setting to work.

Time?

I must say it's rather strange that the forum software doesn't automatically adjust for daylight savings time starting and ending. Anyways thanks for the heads up, I hadn't even noticed that I needed to change the setting.

If it is Opera you'll need to do this:
Click Tools->Preferences->Advanced->History
Check documents = Always

Cool? No it isn't.
It is so sloppy that it detects toolbar.isearch.com as a hijack when you've put it in your host file to prevent becoming infected.
Since you know it's a false positive you can ignore it. All malware scanning software is subject to causing false positives!

If you want your settings to remain intact you still must have Office 2003 unchecked in the Cleaner settings.

Dont ever under any circumstances buy a CD from an artist that has signed with Sony!
That's a bit over-the-top, however the warning is appropriate for copy-protected CD's. Copy-protected CD's aren't actually audio CD's since they contain both data and audio.
For better protection when buying music look for the CD Audio Logo since under Redbook Standards audio only discs can bear that logo.

And yet even more information about it from Sysinternals:

OK have checked and don't actually HAVE any temp variables. Have entered %temp% - C:\WINDOWS\Temp and %tmp% - C:\WINDOWS\Temp in system variables. Guess this would be my fault then.
No, it listed C:\Windows\Temp therefore that's where your temp folder resides. The only reason I was even wondering is because some people edit the location and change it.
Glad to hear you recovered the files.

You might like one with much space to have things around like things to eat.
It's called a small side table, which also makes it rather difficult to spill things over or into the PC that may damage it.

I just remembered that the version 8 installer for third party browsers Mozilla, Firefox, Opera, etc., does something weird by placing some file in the root directory. That's the reason why I created my own SFX installer once the files were extracted.

The thing I've always hated about Flash is even after updated with the newest version some sites that use a previous version will all of a sudden start to bitch about "need to download Flash to use this site." Talk about retarded.

I've noticed the behavior mostly on the CCleaner Forums were it sometimes won't load at all, and most annoying is when in the middle of posting something the connection goes kaput.
My thinking is that ZoneAlarm "may be the reason" because disabling it and using the Windows Firewall allows the CCleaner Forums and some other sites to load without problems.
If anyone else is having this issue it'd help to know for narrowing down if it is a ZoneAlarm bug, or just slow servers causing the problem.
Possible reason sites don't load

It hasn't happened to me for a couple of days now, however it is as you described it's as if the connection is lost. I've dealt with several flavors of it where it may only be a few sites that won't load, to a worse effect when nothing works including using integrated update managers in programs.
By the way I have ZoneAlarm on my two systems WinXP and Win98 and they've both had the problem using my previous ISP which was InterLink (Dial-Up) and now my new ISP which is Netscape (Dial-Up).
What's prompting my suspicion against ZoneAlarm is because the behavior happened on my old install of WinXP, and has returned with my fresh WinXP install.
