  6. im using a voice recording software and it ran out of space in the temp files. i made 2 drives. c and d. the one w/o windows on it has a temporary file which is ONE that i use. they both ran out of space and im not sure how to increase it. cant remember wer the other one was located. maybe locals?
  7. well, just as i was typing this, it did it again. a while back when i first got my laptop, (used toshiba) there was a problem. the mouse would work, then not work. it kept doing that. then, it just kinda fixed itself or i did something...not to sure, but it stopped working period. it eventually started working off and on again. but then, when you were using it, and it went out, the keyboard would go out too. i reinstalled windows and now if i just bump the mouse, even a little, the keyboard stops working completely but the mouse never starts working. someone told me it could have been the motherboard. any ideas? OR AT LEAST, HOW CAN I DISABLE IT FOR THE MOMENT? I HAVE A USB MOUSE TO USE BUT I NEED TO KEEP THE KEYBOARD WORKING!
  8. ive heard wen u wipe out a puter, its not completely wiped out till its written over. wat programs could i use to completely wipe it out?

  10. you need to download a seperate program and that views different things and its just an installation so if you need it you could download the program here. it got to confusing for me so i just went back to the site and downloaded the regular version. what is it that your trying to open?
  11. well lets just say i got curious and i was trying to figure out how secure my programs wer. i downloaded a program and ran it on my computer and it found no passwords. i ran it on my friends who had google talk and it found the password instantly.
  12. google talk isnt that secure. you can figure out someones password in seconds. im gonna try gaim out but i heard it had all kinds of pop ups, ads, and spyware.
  13. see i dont know anything about isp's either. and ypager i think is yahoo IM, and I dont use aol but i do use aim. so about this isp thing?

  15. heard it was just some drivers to install. how do i get those w/o a mouse tho and wer do i get em from? im using ubuntu linux.
  16. never heard of that so i think im safe. i heard it was some driver i have to install. the problem? i dont know how and i cant do anything w/o a mouse. thats the only problem.

  19. my questions have been spread abroad and i have more. what good guides to learn linux are there out there? my USB mouse doesnt work in my computer now that ive installed plain linux. how do i fix that? anybody prefer anything other than ubuntu?
  20. here we go, im out of it when it comes to this kind of stuff. just had my first peek in a computer yesterday. dont know about cards, i do know a bit about memory tho and i heard you had to have to of the same at a time? and what is X11? i was so confused when i installed linux so i just basically kept pressing continue. moved linux topics here.
  21. you dont need to install it if you dont want to. just download and burn the live iso. if you did install it im not quite sure but it is faster seeing that it doesnt run off a cd then. you can just take the cd out, reboot from HD, and theres windows, just as you left it. not sure about the jumping between os's. i know it can be done but you have to partition your HD and i myself would like some help on that one. they say its easy if you know what your doing but i tried it and ended up deleting my HD yesterday, good thing i backed up all my files! they say it will pop up asking you which OS you want to run. you just select which one. i just got ubuntu installed and it is VERY confusing. i dont even know how to access my HD. any good guides out there? this link may be better, http://www.ubuntu.com/ubuntu hope ive helped! aaron (the return) moved linux topic here.
