You can use Windows own search (Start-Search) for that; Just type example *.bak to search box,specify location and start searching. Then press Ctrl+A to select all and remove.

Exactly. Right click selected entrie that you want to remove and click "Delete...". You can select multiple entries by pressing Control on keyboard while selecting enties that you want to remove.

Just don't delete those flash entries that RegSeeker founds and there will be no problem with flash player.

It's not very safe/recommened to delete ALL invalid entries that RegSeeker founds. Download that Andavari's customized exclude.ini. Rename original exclude.ini example to exclude.old and then put that customized exclude.ini to RegSeeker folder.

i have used MRU-Blaster for a long,long time. It's set run on start up,but it's not clearing those Word Viewer MRUs. Those WV MRUs really not seem to be stored anywhere,reg. key or a file. That's why i really don't know how to clean those MRUs.

Do you use any registry cleaners? Example Regseeker and RegScrubXP found some flash reg. entries as invalid. So if you delete them, that may cause flash not to work proberly.

Is Windows XP searching updates to install during shutdown? I looked my WindowsUpdate.log and there was entries like; "Install at shutdown: no updates to install" and "WUAutoUpdateAtShutdown failed". Is there anyway to disable that? I have WU automatic updates disabled.

/FileExts/ registry entries that CCleaner finds are left by files you dealing with, that aren't associated with any programs (open with...). once you choose to that file program to open with,it's no longer unnessesary registry key. example, open .bak with notepad and so on... so those /FileExts/ entries that CCleaner or some other reg. cleaner finds,are SAFE to delete.

i think it must be this Temporary File often used by a Browser or TWAIN Device. what is TWAIN Device? can Diskeeper 10 create those files? i'm just curious...

i don't have printer or scanner.

i ran CCleaner and noticed that there was some twain and twunk .MTX files in temp folder. what are those files and what creates them. i defraged HD with Diskeeper 10 just before running CCleaner.

here's another thing what you can try in Windows XP,if your icons are messed up; delete file iconcache.db. it's hidden file in C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data folder. iconcache.db will be recreated after reboot.

if you delete another QTPlayerSession.xml file (it's FileKey3 in winapp.ini),Quicktime Player "Player Preferences" also resets to default settings. has anybody else noticed this? so workaround to this problem is delete FileKey3 under [Quicktime Player] in winapp.ini.

WTF!. i have deleted that folder manually long time ago,because i have no reason to uninstall SP2 and it took lot of space. but that should not be under "hotfix uninstallers" in CCleaner. you can easely delete it by mistake with CCleaner,ever even knewing doing it. and then when you want to uninstall SP2,suddenly you can't because of that! big NO NO to that option. SP2 isn't just like anyother hotfix.

yes, SP2 creates $NtServicePackUninstall$ folder. is CCleaner programmed to delete that also,when "hotfix uninstallers" is checked? if so,it's absolute disaster.

SP2 uninstall files are on its own separate folder,there not in "$NtUninstall..." folder. and like hotfixes,if you are sure you never need to uninstall it,then you can remove it.
