also i just looked at the wmp10 help thingy and it said that it got the media info off windowsmedia.com but i cant find this newhere. on wmp9 it begins with this start. edit i was also just thinking are there any particular services that need to be running in order to do this??

looks like i got overexcited. i used safe xp to remove the restrictions but it still wont let me update the media info, also cant dl codecs.tried reinstalling but no luck. im not sure but i think something else might be blocking it because when i uncheck the box for updating media in safe xp i will use wmp a few times but then if i check safe xp again it has been rechecke

that master command is already checked. i dont have a software firewall installed only the netgear dg834gt firewall and i dont know how to allow a program in this.

i am trying to get it so windows media will update songs for me but it will not let me. when i ask it to do it, it says i must change my privacy settings so i look in there but the thing i need to check is shaded out and i cant click it. my friend said that i needed to adjust my ie settings and i tried doing this but it did not work. ne ideas?

i agree i just ran that shields up and according to that it doesnt even know if my computer exists. i use a wireless netgear router, one that mrg recommended to me, and its great

download the song ( not all can be downloaded due to permissions) you click on the bit at the bottom of each result where it says something like mp3 128k. if it downloads u then just u a cd burner to put it on a cd. eg http://www.cdburnerxp.se/index.php which is free you could also possibly use the media players. which ones do u have

well thats what i thought when i found this site. obviously they dont have ever song you could think of but they have a lot. the thing is i know that if i download a few songs i wont get arrested but it would be nice to know it was totally legal

ok i just found this free download/streaming site, its well known and you have probably heard of it http://search.singingfish.com/sfw/home.jsp now they say that this is totally legal to download and listen to the music. i know people are going to say that no free music downloading is legal but i have read through their information and it seems that this is legal. i just wanted to know how everyone else interprets this site.

i just got the blue screen of death and i got this stop message Stop: 0x000000B8 i tried googling it but most sites say that it is to do with windows 2000 and im on windows xp. any ideas?
