  1. dpc and hardware interupts..... i thought that was a tad obvious....
  2. for some reason my computer has become very sloppy. if i look in process explorer i see that there two combined are using over 50 % of the processor. this has only just happended after i put in a new hard drive. i tried removing it but it did not make a difference. i checked in my comp to make sure that everything was still connected and it was. now most programs take ages to load, firefox not at all. anyone know what is causing this. my comp is a p4 2.8, gig of ram, nvidia geforce 5800 and windows home edition edit - i was just playing around in safe mode and it took me quite a few attempts to even get into it, it would get to the point where u have to chose a user then restart. now im in it thought and dpc and hardware interupts are only using <10% of the processor.

    Programs

if you have the malware that cant even be bothered to hide itself it may be that you have an even worse infection, this may be why your wireless connection is dodgy. i would advise following the instructions and posting a log in the hijackthis section
  14. well i cant really see what could be wrong, i suppose you could try and updgrade the firmware on the router
  15. does it say automatic in brackets next to it??
  16. if you right click when you have it running on the connection thing in the corner and the view available networks. if there is one there click on change advanced settings and click on the wireless network tab is the medion network one of the prefered networks??
  17. yes, another thought when you start your comp does it actually say started next to it when you begin your pc before you have a wireless connection going?? also are there more than one wireless networks available for the pc to chose?
  18. to check if the wireless config service is on auto. go start - run - type services.msc then scroll to the bottom and see if it is set on auto. if that doesnt work i dont know. just rereading your post i doubt there is a program managing the connection as I guess the wireless reciever is built into the computer.

    network bridge

is there any way to create a network bridge in windows 2000. such as another program or something like that, or using one of the options when creating a network connection. as windows xp is the only os with a actual bridge connections option.
  20. is there another program that is running on startup to manage the connection. or if u type services.msc is the wireless configuration service set to automatic?
  21. thats just a usb wireless reciever
