  1. Hello pippocavalieri,

I also have defender, and have it ticked in ccleaner applications, but do not get the icon with the blue question mark in the taskbar prompting me to do a new scan after ccleaner cleaning.

Do you have this ticked in defender - tools/options..

"notify if changes are made to your computer by software that is allowed to run..?"

I don't, could this be why? I also notice that things that I get asked to allow, get cleaned as well!! Annoying.

  2. Jade,

Here is a link to a microsoft article. (I was timed out first and had to click on a redirect link)

    http://support.microsoft.com/servicedesks/...gn&LN=en-gb

It is a very long article which mentions troubleshooting WCECOMM.LOGS (nearly halfway down it also talks about your "pin too high, pin too low problem")

I gather you must use microsoft active sync.

A little way down it mentions that the files are kept in a temp directory which may be why you have so many.

Anyway settle down with a stiff drink and give it a read! :)

  3. Hello adative,

When you "Fix issues" it will ask if you would like to make a back up. If you say yes and something goes wrong (unlikely) you can double-click the back up and it will restore it to how it was.

  4. Thank you for the replies.

It wasn't there when I turned on my comp today.

I had a look at it in the control panel, file sharing was not selected so I actived to see what would happen. It told me it would not work as I didn't have the devices to use ( no wireless devices etc ) so I stopped it by selecting stop filesharing. However it is now using 23thousand k in processes.

There is also mswnc.exe using 18 thousand k.

How exactly do I stop them running please?

  5. It would be nice to see a dedicated area for "post tests" such as adding screenshots, posting links etc. so posters could try out these skills without feeling they might mess up a thread. Quite a few other forums have them.

  6. Open winapp.ini (not winapp2.ini) and search for Ewido, then paste this as the last line:

    FileKey3=%ProgramFiles%\ewido anti-spyware 4.0|logfile.txt

Thank you Andavari, I have done that.
