Have you tried the solution here? (Post number4)
http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=8932
Having had a look around their does seem to be one or two people who have the problem, also read somewhere it could happen if you used spy sweeper, obviosly I have no idea if that is true.

How did you know that?
"A" level in Geography at the very least.
Right click on image and choose save image address, open new tab and paste in address and press go! Or right click and choose image properties.
Using opera of course

What version do you have, 2.01.507?
By the way earlier versions can be downloaded from here on the right

Sputnik, Tourbillon castle in Switzerland...atmospheric.
A lot of the castles in Northumberland such as Bamburgh are still lived in.
The one below at Dunstanburgh, is not so far from away, although not lived in now. However what you cannot see from the photo is at the other side is a magnificent links golf course. Imagine taking a shot with that in your line of sight (ninth hole)

I may give this a miss as I don't really feel I gel with some of the addresses listed eg. hazelnut@bungeejumper.in
however Andavari might like the F1Freak.in

Can you reinstall the old version you had for now?
Older versions can be found here on right hand side
http://filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
I believe the file you mentioned is to do with languages. There are sites which have free downloads of the 1033.dll file but I do not know enough about this area to suggest that you do it.

Hello xela and welcome to the forum
Yes it can be a bit scary using a software for the first time.
When using CCleaner it will delete temp files and other things that over time can slow your system down.
When using the "issues" function of CCleaner you are offered the choice of saving a backup of the registry entries it deletes in case you need to restore them. They are saved by default in "my documents" and can be restored by right-clicking on them and choosing merge.
To get back to the cleaner function, this has no backup as this is not found to be needed. Do not tick anything in the advanced section until you are more familar with the program.
I am sure you will be okay
A read of this my help you as well

The comments below it say it only works for xp pro users.

The castle is in Northumberland and is called Bamburgh castle. There was first a castle of sorts on the site around 600AD. The present one has been there around a thousand years, although it has been rebuilt in parts due to wars and cannon fire etc during the middle ages.
Northumberland has the most castles of any county in England as they were built to stop England being attacked by Scotland.

When you press the start button, and then all programs, is CCleaner not listed there?
If it is there should be an uninstall option.
What are you using by the way, XP, vista or windows 2000?

I had a vision of you with your sleeves rolled up, scrubbing away

I would think the best thing you could do is contact AVG support as it seems the problem is at their end.
-
I think it is a matter of personal choice.
Some people use the CCleaner software uninstaller, some use windows add/remove in the control panel, and some have found good benefits can be had by using a program's own uninstaller.
I personally don't rename software programs, but that's just me

Which version of CCleaner do you have?
Are you xp or vista?
Is this the first time you have used CCleaner?

I stand corrected Tony, after all this is one of your areas of expertise

Please note msconfig is a diagnostic tool and shouldn't be used as a permanent way to stop programs running at startup.
CraigM
A more recommended way is to do start>run and type services.msc >press enter.

Are you saying it is just the CCleaner program window itself that is affected, nothing on my documents or any other window?

Thats a neat little app. Shows a lot of other info as well such as your motherboard, bios, video card etc.
Problems loading new version

If you double click "my computer", then double click on C drive, then on programs, you should then see the CCleaner folder. Right click and delete the folder, then delete it from the recycle bin.
If for any reason it won't let you, try in safe mode. In case you are unsure about using safe mode here are some instructions
http://www.pchell.com/support/safemode.shtml
Here is a direct link to the setup, remember to choose whether or not you want the yahoo toolbar, you have a choice.
Download the setup to your desktop and try and install.
