Have a look here to see if anything helps
-
Well it might be a Win 11 thing then or the fact that I did a clean install.
At install I got a similar screen to you but after I messed around turning everything off and opened CC again it had gone away.
-
Just installed this build from scratch on Win 10.
I would suggest you have a look at the Settings in the panel on the left and make sure that Custom Clean is chosen and that you turn off EVERYTHING in Settingsthat you do not want.
After a quick check I see that when I turn off automatic updates etc in Settings/Updates, and then I go to the Smart Screen option and turn it off I get this warning saying it will stop automatic updates. Silly me... I thought that is what the Update settings were for.

Seems to be a bit of an ongoing issue over the years.
See here to see if the suggestions help.

I'm close to applying for a job in your company, just so I can fix this issue, then leaving. -

Right-click on your C drive and select Properties.
Select the General tab from the top.
Press on Disk Cleanup.
Choose what you want to clean and click OK. (may take a while to run)
When it is finished, on that same disk cleanup window select Clean up System Files which is at the bottom.
It will run and may take a while.
Have a coffee and relax.
When it is finished, restart machine and run CCleaner .

What was it cleaning according to the ccleaner window when it stopped at 39%

It may be better to contact CCleaner directly either by email
support@ccleaner.com
or webpage
https://support.piriform.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=86507
-
Try using the uninstaller in CCleaner itself to uninstall it (tools, highlight ccleaner and click uninstall) and please give more info on your Windows version and other info as it's hard to guess on your problem otherwise.
Where are you right clicking for example?
-
What version of Windows?
What build of CCleaner?
What does it say in the window that it is stuck at?
Are you using custom clean, health check or what?
-
It would be best if you contacted CCleaner/Piriform directly about this.
Either by email

I am working on a friend's computer and don't have access to her MS account.
I would really like to know why there is a discrepancy between the two reported number. Where does Speccy get its number from?
You do not need to have access to her account. When the machine goes online it get activated automatically by the cloud if the machine has a digital licence
-
It is not a good idea to post licence details and your email on a forum, you can get spammed.
Please contact by email

If your machine is already activated then you have a digital licence which is stored on the Microsoft cloud servers.
When you clean install from the same machine the licence will automatically be activated.
-
The obvious question is where are you downloading it from?
Have you tried this site? Only took a few seconds for me just now.

Don't worry if you feel uncomfortable with any of the suggestions we have given and don't want to do them at the moment. After all, it is your machine
Just let us know how you are getting on.
(by the way, running Dism does not set your machine back to how it was when you first got it, all your stuff will still be there)
-
I take it you are running a SFC ? (system file check)
I would be inclined to make sure I was online, do cmd prompt as admin and run Dism, then reboot afterwards.
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth then press enter (note spaces before forward slashes.)
You have quite a few odds and ends in errors and running Dism should deal with them.
May I suggest in future to only get your drivers through Windows or from the website of which ever manufacturer did the laptop components.
Keep the info coming.

This is the Windows build you are on.
Perhaps do a manual check for updates (Start-Settings-Updates and Security then press check for updates) as there are Windows Modules installer errors showing for you it may be Windows is having an issue doing the December update)
-
@cavjj I do realise it may take a while to look at the things below because of your issues with CCleaner opening slowly.
What happens if you turn off your network and then run CCleaner?
What happens if you choose Custom Clean as default on CCleaner and then run it?
What Processes show as using the most CPU in your Taskmanager when you try to run CCleaner?
What items do you have running at start-up on your machine (can be seen under Start-up tab in TaskManager.)
Did you upgrade to Win 11 or was it already on the machine?
Are all your Win updates done and you have done a full restart of your machine (not a shutdown, it must be a restart)

No entries for CCleaner on the problem reports log.
Any entries for anything else?

Press the Windows start flag on your taskbar and immediately type the word reliability. No need to put the word in a box or anything as Windows will automagically do it all for you.
Click on View Reliability History, let it load and see if any errors show up for the date and times CCleaner fails to start.
If an error shows, click on it to see what it says.

We moderators are just ordinary users like yourself and cannot give you what you want.
As you do not seems to feel that 60+ security companies on VirusTotal can give you enough reassurance, I suggest you email CCleaner, enclosing your last post (and perhaps a link to this thread) telling them that you wish to become a business user and can they escalate your question to management.
support@ccleaner.com
Or use the business enquiry webpage.

See here
Follow the steps and you will get the SHA-256 of your installer.
Now go to Virus Total
https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/upload
Click upload file (the installer you want to check)
When it computes then click on the details tab.
Look at the SHA-256 and you will see that 62 virus/malware companies have already done it and the file is good (green)
The screenshot I am pasting now it what the file shows on my machine after following the steps I outlined in my first link of the post.
It is the same Sha-256 as VirusTotal shows.
Give it a try
It's disappointing that there seems to be no live agent. I can't activate
in CCleaner
