Why dont you just do it in word? I have ms works and all you do is go to tools envelopes.

If your still have OE on your computer why dont you just copy all of your settings from their strait to thunderbird. Dont import them just use OE like a guide make sure all of the info is exactly the same. Sounds like you just dont have it configured correctly, you might have just missed something.

Who is your email provider yahoo, google, msn, ect?

right click on your account and go to properties and then server settings check the box that says ssl that seem like whats wrong. You shouldnt have to put in anything else. edited.

Have you tried to set up an acount without importing your settings from OE? Try this and just import your address book after you get it working.

It depends on the type of acount you using. I use gmail and you have to have that box checked. Also make sure you have your pop and smtp configured correctly. What kind of account are you using that way I can help tell you what settings you need.

What kind of email are you using? Do you have the box that says use secure connection or something like that checked (SSL)?

Are you using an antivirus? If not get the free 12 month one on the freeware section as well. Its a very good program if you have a virus it will fix it.

Go to the freeware section and get any antimalware program you dont have, this has all of the programs that are in Taruns antimalware package.

What the hell is that "easter egg" thing. I clicked on it and some stupid game popped up. I was going to try to play it for a minute but I couldnt figure it out. Why couldnt they have had the "easter egg" be breakout instead?

I dont know much about this, but I think that a wired connection from the router is going to be faster than the wireless connection anyway. Also you are using an 802.11b router which I think for wireless connections is pretty slow anyway. I use a 802.11g router to hook up a desktop(wired), a laptop(wireless) and a ps2(wired) and it is fairly quick, but not as fast as a direct connection to the modem. You could disable the ethernet connection on the computer with the wireless connection but I dought you will get any more speed, Make sure you just disable the connection not delete it (just in case).

This version has a better interface, but didnt find anything new. Its scaner might be a little faster.

Where did you download from? Also I dought this is the problem but the windows firewall is in the security center in the control panel. also I suggest you go to the freeware section and download every spyware utility you dont have. Then go to download.com and get a free firewall called zone alarm, its free and dosent cause lots of headache.
