  2. I have been having this same problem. I note that the version of ntdll.dll shown in the problem signature is dated 1/2/2020 (I suspect that it was installed be the final WIN 7 update KB4534310). Could there be some incompatibility between the newer CCleaner versions and this version of ntdll.dll?
  3. Using Windows 10, Firefox Malwarebytes Premium Norton 360. My Install also crashes or doesn't even start to install since v5.64 Never had a problem before even with these running & not disabled. Really miss my ccleaner!
  4. Hello Please remove from [Internet Explorer *] the line: RegKey4=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl It contains some settings that can be useful and are used by some of us, either through group policy or otherwise. The way to clean something is not to wipe all the settings. These settings in particular are used (queried) not only by IE, but also by many programs that access the Internet (or try to or are badly written to try to). You can check with Process Monitor, nearly every program uses them. For Windows 7 I am sure that many programs use them, and I see the queries also on Win10, don't know if they are used to the same extent, but they are used. I remove the line manually for nearly a year since it was introduced, enough is enough.

  6. was useful to know, tnx for the info
  7. 5.67 exhibits the same behavior, i.e. it won't run. I'm using Norton IS and I excluded CCleaner from it's monitoring but that made no difference. As to what was on the previous drive I'm unsure if 5.66 or a predecessor.
  8. Just an update on this issue. Windows Feature update 2004 installed, and it still gives this error. Version 2004 (OS Build 19041.264) Windows 10 Pro. I only use the Firefox 76.0.1 64bit browser. Thanks!
  9. Still not fixed in v5.67.7763! Very disappointing! You have broken a function that has worked for years, please fix it as soon as possible.
  10. Still not fixed or optimized in v5.67.7763!

  12. 2 machines done so far using upgrade via a USB iso. No issues.
  13. Windows 10 2004 known issues. There are nine 'Comaptability Holds', so if you are not being offered the update then it may be because it's not compatible with your machine yet. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-information/status-windows-10-2004 https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/microsoft-is-investigating-ten-windows-10-2004-known-issues/

  15. 2004 seems to be running OK here. It did change my colour scheme back to light for the start menu and taskbar, (but not for settings menus?), and for some reason turned on the taskbar labels. Probably a consequence of using the Update Assistant rather than Windows Updates. Soon sorted those out.
  16. Version 5.44 is a very old, and now slightly broken version of CCleaner. If you are having trouble with the CCleaner Professional Plus bundle installer (see here https://support.piriform.com/hc/en-us/articles/360028350711-How-many-computers-can-I-install-CCleaner-Professional-Plus-on-) on the computers with 5.44 you may need to uninstall 5.44 first before installing your new version on top of it. Alternatively, if those two machines with 5.44 on them are still showing as "CCleaner Free" you may need to register them so that they know you now have the paid version (https://support.piriform.com/hc/en-us/articles/204043844--Problems-activating-or-registering-CCleaner-Professional)

  18. What Windows operating system do the computers with 5.44 installed have?
  19. I installed Ccleaner Professional on all 3 of my home computers but the versions don't match. On one of my computers, v5.66.7716 (64-bit) with Health Check was installed. On the other two of my computers an older version, v5.44.6575 (64-bit) without Health Check was installed. I paid for a 3 computer bundle to include Health Check on all computers. How do I upgrade my 2 computers with the older version that did not receive Health Check, to the newer version with Health Check, so all 3 of my computer's Ccleaner Professional programs match?
  20. Hi, You can try this one. Install the free version of Recuva using this link https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva/download/standard Once the download has completed, simply double-click the file to start the installation. Create a folder on a USB drive and name it anything that you would like. (e.g. Recuva Pro Portable) Browse to the program's installation folder (e.g. C:\Program Files\Recuva) and copy its files to the folder you created. Create a portable.dat dummy file inside of the folder you created. To create the portable.dat dummy file: - Right-click on a blank area of the new folder > click New > Text Document - Replace the entire file name with "portable.dat" and click Enter. - You will be prompted to confirm the file extension change. Click Yes.
  21. Are you talking about Recuva ? (I hope so) https://www.ccleaner.com/docs/recuva/using-recuva
  22. Still not offered in UK here this morning so I've made an iso via the Media Creation Tool and will be doing an upgrade on this PC when I've finished my morning forum runs. I may also use it to do a clean install on a laptop just to see what's what. As I have Macrium images I'm not worried if it goes wrong
  23. Windows 10 2004 is now fully released to Market and rolling out. I've just installed it and am using it now. It is not being rolled out as an Automatic Update yet, it's only available if you 'Check for Updates' - but they are 'throttling' distribution so it may not be offered to you yet. It wasn't being offered by 'Check for Updates' on my laptop, but I got round that by downloading the Windows 10 Update Assistant and running that. More of a 'reinstall, keeping files and apps' than an upgrade, so it does take longer to upgrade that way, and some of your customised settings will be lost. If you are not sure about using Upgrade Assistant to shortcut things then wait until the upgrade is offered to you by Microsoft.
  24. It won't harm CCleaner to reset to defaults everyday. (We do stuff like that all the time when trying to replicate a users problem). But you shouldn't really have to, if you don't tick the 'Do not show me this message again' box then it should show every time it's needed. The fact that it's still asking to close Edge, especially to Force close it, indicates that something in your Edge is still not closing (properly), probably extensions or push notifications. See this for how to stop extensions, etc. from running in the background after you close Edge Chrome: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-prevent-new-microsoft-edge-running-background-windows-10 PS. The new Windows 10 2004 has now been fully released, but you have to 'Check for Updates' (or use the Upgrade Assistant) to get it, its not an Automatic Update yet. I've just installed it and haven't had time for a good look round yet. No doubt we will now start getting issues related to what MS have changed this time.
  25. I recently did a scan and wondering if you can recover lost word documents, none are in my files and the recovery did not even recover anything. Any tips?
