Moderators nukecad Posted July 28 Moderators Share Posted July 28 It can often take some AV's a while to recognise a new CCleaner version, some are particularly prone to it because they don't update that often. Because the new software version is not in their definitions/database they don't recognise it as a safe app that needs to give itself elevated permissions - so they stop it from running as soon as you open it. So you click on 'Run Cleaner', and you say that it finishes, but what happens then? ie. exactly what are you meaning when you say 'crashes'? Does it freeze, close, give an an error message, something else? Has it actually finished, does it show you the 'Cleaning complete' screen? Or has it stuck partway through?
