CCleaner Icons and folders

Hi MsGail:

What is your Windows operating system, and what is the full name and version number of your CCleaner software (e.g., CCleaner Free Portable v6.15.10623, CCleaner Professional v6.15.10623, etc.)?

If you are using a Portable edition of CCleaner please see my 08-Aug-2023 post in tkrojam's Windows 10 No Window But Ccleaner Running in Task Manager.  CCleaner Portable is designed to be run from a removable USB stick ***  and you should not be running the CCleaner executables from your Windows desktop.

*** Note: if you don't have a removable USB stick then create a subfolder called CCleaner in your Downloads folder (e.g., C:\Users\<yourusername>\Downloads\CCleaner)  and  unzip the ccsetup6xx.zip file there.

I does sound that you have installed CCleaner on your Desktop, or have unzipped the Portable version there.

CCleaner will always create those 2 folders in the folder where CCleaner64.exe (or CCleaner.exe) is located if they don't already exist there.
(And as far as Windows is concerned the desktop is just a folder, albeit a special one).

If you let us know just why you have put CCleaner64.exe (or CCleaner.exe) on your Desktop we should be able to advise you of a better way to do what you want to.

Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Worried about why some files come back after cleaning? See this link:
