EP211
How do you uninstall this. (Kamo) I have been an avid CCleaner user for years, but this just changed my mind. Any program that hides itself from the Uninstall Programs list, or won't uninstall using the programs uninstall method is potential spyware. This is a bad move for CCleaner. Not to mention users should have been made aware. Horrible.
EP211
CCleaner seems to be going the way of many... installing spam and/or spyware. It should not be this difficult to uninstall an unwanted program... unless there are snooping around.

Like many (security) apps (antivirus, antiramsomware, etc.) that protect themselves from malware, Kamo cannot be uninstalled in the normal way from Windows. You don't want them to be easily uninstalled by bad guys. So you have to uninstall those apps using a tool from the developers of the software. In the case of Kamo you use the Kamo setup file to uninstall it (I agree that info could be easier to find); see here:https://support.piriform.com/hc/en-us/articles/360048784691-Troubleshooting-when-Kamo-cannot-detect-tracking-activity *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Moderators hazelnut Posted September 21, 2021 Moderators Share Posted September 21, 2021 I would not class Kamo as a security app. Quote Kamo is designed to prevent third parties and advertisers from tracking your online activity. As such, we recommend using Kamo, CCleaner, and all of our other products alongside some strong, trustworthy antivirus software https://support.piriform.com/hc/en-us/articles/360045559652-How-is-Kamo-different-from-an-antivirus-or-VPN-product- Support contact https://support.ccleaner.com/s/contact-form?language=en_US&form=general or support@ccleaner.com

Moderators nukecad Posted September 22, 2021 Moderators Share Posted September 22, 2021 Interesting, I thought that CCleaner called the Windows uninstaller - but EP211 said Kamo wasn't showing in Windows Settings>Apps to uninstall. Kamo has it's own uninstaller in the setup exe - is that just calling the Windows uninstaller? (The more we know about these things the better we can help others). *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'? Admin Dave CCleaner Posted September 22, 2021 Admin Share Posted September 22, 2021 Well true, you can use Windows uninstaller instead for the same end result (ie: it summons the Piriform uninstaller which asks if you are sure, etc): 1 hour ago, nukecad said: EP211 said Kamo wasn't showing in Windows Settings>Apps to uninstall Odd, it shows for me. Which suggests that there might be something else going on with OP's computer. if someone chooses to uninstall our software at some point after they install it, then we certainly don't want to put any obstacles in their way. That said, while CCleaner (being a performance and privacy tool) has a number of use cases where someone might want to install it once to fix a specific problem and then uninstall it, Kamo (being a specialist privacy tool) only helps while it is installed and running.
