jbp359
When searching for duplicate files to delete, the results give me questions because I am not that proficient in programming. Duplicate files shown have the same name, file size and creation date/time but the File Path is different. How do I know I can delete a file if it has a different path and if I can/should how do I know which duplicate file to delete?
Moderators Nergal Posted September 8, 2020 Moderators Share Posted September 8, 2020 only delete things you know you don't need duplicates of (word documents, pdfs, mp3, jpg and the such). Many programs and windows has duplicates that are required to stay duplicated. ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T. Moderators nukecad Posted September 8, 2020 Moderators Share Posted September 8, 2020 If these are system files then leave them alone. Some system and application files need to be duplicated in more than one place for things to work properly. If they are your own files - pictures, videos, documents, etc. then you need to decide which to delete. CCleaner can find duplicates to save you time searching for them, but it can't read your mind to know if you want to keep them or not. *** Out of Beer Error ->->-> Recovering Memory *** Worried about 'Tracking Files'?
