circe801
ccleaner is one of the first programs i install after buying/upgrading a computer. i used to use adaware--before they integrated an antivius. recently, i discovered that you can disable the antivirus and use the adware/malware function 'as a second line of defense', so i installed it. this is a win10 64 bit OS. while doing my nightly scans before shutdown, ccleaner analyzed fine, but hung on the clean. i uninstalled and reinstalled--same thing. uninstalled adaware, and now there is no problem whatsoever. just thought you should know about this. the only software lavasoft claims is an issue is malwarebytes, though there were no issues on my machine. anyone else experience similar issues?? Moderators hazelnut Posted July 16, 2016 Moderators Share Posted July 16, 2016 Quite a lot of security type software employ self protection methods to stop malware/viruses disabling them. As you say this doesn't happen when Adaware is uninstalled them perhaps this is the case. Moderators Andavari Posted July 16, 2016 Moderators Share Posted July 16, 2016 Perhaps excluding CCleaner would help. When CCleaner is cleaning an antivirus real-time protection could cause a problem since it's scanning what CCleaner is doing.
