  1. thank you, hazelnut. now i understand why i was unable to find it when i searched. the article says "32 bit users only". AFAIK, CCleaner uses the same setup files for 32/64 bit. why would they say that then? just curious. i am running win 10 64 bit.
  2. hi. i did a regular scan with malwarebytes last night and the results showed as below in the attachment. i downloaded the update after opening CCleaner and being advised there was an update. i updated from the piriform site. this version obviously from a while ago as i am now on v. 535. now, i usually scan setup download files--but not from trusted products like CCleaner--but i just scanned the file with my antivirus, which is TM. the results are shown below in the other attachment. notes: the setup file icon was different in my downloads folder (i usually delete older setup files periodically) than 532, 534 and 535. i would show you, but TM deleted it. the TM results seem to indicate that there was a hack of the setup download files. i searched the forums and did not find anything about this. anyone?
  3. v5.22.5724 (64 bit) on windows 10 home anniversary update i've not encountered this problem before in my approximately 20 years of using ccleaner--even though 'clear browser cache' is checked in both ccleaner AND firefox v49.0.1, when i run ccleaner, it shows a FF browser cache file to be deleted (which shouldn't happen, as FF is set to clear this upon close), but when i run the cleaner, it shows 0 bytes of that cache as deleted--it is all still there. and why is it showing as a 'file to be deleted' if ccleaner isn't then deletng it? any suggestions?? i mean, why is it even there after closing FF--FF cache not deleted then, ccleaner won't delete it, either. i find this odd. thanks!!
  4. new "leftover"--and i haven't changed anything--now, even after clearing cache in FF (shows 0 kb cache after) and again with CCleaner, there is a firefox cache file of a few hundred kb left. i analyze and it shows, i clean and it doesn't show as having been deleted. i analyze again, and there it is. if CCleaner is set to delete all FF cache, cookies, etc., WHY is this all of a sudden (never happened before) there--and not being deleted during a clean?? why is it shown in analysis, and included in the 'files to be deleted' list, but is not in the 'files deleted' list. and to me, this makes even less sense as it is FF and the program is closed, therefore, no files would be 'recreated' after cleaning. i hope am being clear enough on this... thanks!!
  5. ccleaner is one of the first programs i install after buying/upgrading a computer. i used to use adaware--before they integrated an antivius. recently, i discovered that you can disable the antivirus and use the adware/malware function 'as a second line of defense', so i installed it. this is a win10 64 bit OS. while doing my nightly scans before shutdown, ccleaner analyzed fine, but hung on the clean. i uninstalled and reinstalled--same thing. uninstalled adaware, and now there is no problem whatsoever. just thought you should know about this. the only software lavasoft claims is an issue is malwarebytes, though there were no issues on my machine. anyone else experience similar issues??
  6. i am running v.5.19.5633 (64 bit) on win10. under 'system', i have 'windows log files' checked, but after cleaning, i will reanalyze, and often, there is a small (under 10b) windows log file there. if i clean again, the reported deleted files will be a larger one that originally reported, and sometimes there is also a 'windows search' file of 1024b removed that was not originally reported. what is the reason for this?? thank you in advance for the assistance in helping me understand this.
