JG069
ccsetup506.exe won't install through IE11 and Windows 7 with all current service packs. I removed malwarebytes, still fails. Ran Microsoft Security Essentials, no problem. Tried to download earlier 505 version, still fails. Tried to download in safe mode, still fails. It makes it to the security scan, than it fails. Enable Enhanced Protected Mode is not checked under IE tools. Tried saving the file and changing its name, still fails. Have another laptop with same IE and Windows levels, running Microsoft Security Essential, and malwarebytes and it downloaded without a problem. Any ideas? effingham.bellweather
Windows 7 enterprise x32, IE 11. CCleaner 5.06 free does not install, same for defraggler free, will not install. Tried to download again from Piriform.com (ccleaner 5.06.5219 and defraggler 2.19.982), Windows Defender is saying they contain a virus.
Moderators hazelnut Posted June 7, 2015 Moderators Share Posted June 7, 2015 I have downloaded Defraggler 2.19.982 from Piriform (not FileHippo) and uploaded it to VirusTotal As you can see from this result the only AV that flags it is Eset and that is because of the bundled Google offer. No one else in that list (including Microsoft) flag it as malicious. https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/b7bad67d08fee3b1a3a18703890f9421b1d4a49dda1f2f25618c3af6b985ae81/analysis/ Support contact https://support.ccleaner.com/s/contact-form?language=en_US&form=general or support@ccleaner.com

Dude_
Doing an update, like I have without error for a decade+, and it says: CCleaner v5.06 Setup Error opening file for writing: C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner64.exe Click Abort to stop the installation, Retry to try again, or Ignore to skip this file. None of which helps although ignoring lets the install complete but opens CC v5.05.5176 (64-bit).
