Winapp2.ini
I rarely use YouTube (there are only a few channels I sort-of like.) and I would not ever consider paying for the privledge. I'd imagine the "pay" channels will largely be bigger content producers (webisodes? something like tv-shows perhaps.) winapp2.ini additions thread winapp2.ini github
Moderators Andavari Posted May 6, 2013 Moderators Share Posted May 6, 2013 Some of the stuff on there was already pay-per-view, like the movies they have, even some channels giving car reviews.
Moderators DennisD Posted May 7, 2013 Moderators Share Posted May 7, 2013 Looks like some of it is gonna be what we can already get in the UK on "Catch Up". I wonder if this is intended to make some of these UK based providers (TV) available worldwide as long as you pay. I don't follow any channels so probably won't notice any difference. Moderators rridgely Posted May 10, 2013 Moderators Share Posted May 10, 2013 I wouldn't pay for the typical "youtube" stuff. I wouldn't pay for reviews, video blogs, ect. However I do pay for some podcasts. I would love to see these shows move into video and if I got them for $2-3 a month, that would be fine. Eventually this ad supported model is going to crash. If we want quality content, we are going to have to pay. I'm surprised you guys don't use youtube. I use it to subscribe to a ton of channels(most tech or news related). Its awesome to automatically get the newest episode in my feed rather than going to a ton of different sites.
Moderators Andavari Posted May 11, 2013 Moderators Share Posted May 11, 2013 I'm surprised you guys don't use youtube. I personally use it daily to look at car reviews, and cars driven on race tracks, etc., but I wouldn't consider the content worthy of a paid subscription. Moderators DennisD Posted May 12, 2013 Moderators Share Posted May 12, 2013 I use it a lot also, but I've never subscribed to any particular channels.
minty_45
I don't agree. I'll protest not to be paid.
