please run Speccy in Debug mode

http://www.piriform.com/docs/speccy/troubleshooting-speccy/running-speccy-in-debug-mode

then post the log here at this thread as an attachment, you may have to change its extension from .log to .txt

Try a program called "Windows Repair" (WR) (www.tweaking.com) and run it with - at least - the box called "Repair WMI" ticked. WR can solve a significant amount of problems. If it helps you then post a reply in this thread.

Hello Nergal, When I Run Speccy In Debug Mode I Get The Same Error Message Plus A Message That Says No Update Advabile I Have Attached A Screen Shot. Do You Have Any Other Ideas.

I expect you to get the same result, and debug mode always checks for updates. Please attach the created logfile from the debug as an attachment

@Willy, I'm not sure that's his issue as other components load, is there any harm in running the utility if wmi functions?

Hi Shawn, and welcome to the forum.

I found the same fix that hazel links to, and it seems to have fixed an awful lot of those errors, and If you already have "Windows Repair", you could use it to back up the registry, and restore it if the reg fix doesn't work.

I would suggest at least having a look at the location the reg file is targeted at, and this is the actual contents of that reg file ...

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0000]

"OpenGLVendorName"=hex(7):61,00,74,00,69,00,6f,00,36,00,61,00,78,00,78,00,2e,\

00,64,00,6c,00,6c,00,00,00,61,00,74,00,69,00,6f,00,36,00,61,00,78,00,78,00,\

2e,00,64,00,6c,00,6c,00,00,00,00,00

It apparently puts right what is an error in the "OpenGLVendorName" entry.

All this ties in with "method 3" of hazels 2nd link, and one of the links I found last night, which shows very clearly in screenshots what the problem is supposed to be. And a copy of the same reg fix.

You should at least fire up regedit, and check out that registry location, and see what you have in there.

An alternative to backing up the registry would be to "export" the original entry to a safe location, and if nothing changes after trying the fix, then just merge the exported original entry back into the registry.

Your choice of course Shawn.

@Noobkiller: "Registry Backup" (www.Tweaking.com) is a great tool to backup the registry. No need to use "Windows Repair" when one only wants to backup the registry. I am glad "Window Repair" fixed a number of problems.
