Virus after updating CCLEANER to V2.32.1165

Hello,

I just updated to CCLEANER to V2.32.1165 (first I run the older

version in my computer, it asked me to updated, I just accepted it)

After it my computer got infected (when I logged on the net).

IE8 does not run, it only opens automatically for heavy porno sites,

also if I click OK it goes to a site selling virus killer.

Then I purchased and run a registry cleaner program from

ParetoLogic Inc. but it did not clear the problem

Could anyone input me ideas about it please?

Thanks

Beny

If you got CCleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com, http://www.piriform.com, or http://www.filehippo...nload_ccleaner/ all those installers are all 100% clean! Now if you've downloaded CCleaner from elsewhere there's no telling what you've downloaded since there are rip-off versions of the software.

I'd recommend reading and following these malware removal instructions:

A registry cleaner isn't ever going to remove an infection! That's what legit anti-malware software is for which I've linked to just above this comment of following the malware removal instructions.

Thanks for your reply.

Please read my original posting:

"I just updated to CCLEANER to V2.32.1165 (first I run the older

I did not pick any place to download from. It is automacally.

I'm going to read the information that you indicated.

Do you have please any idea of what can I do?

I appreciate your input

I don't know how you could've been infected by CCleaner unless the infection was already on your system and actively running.

Do you have please any idea of what can I do?

What I've already mentioned:

I'd recommend reading and following these malware removal instructions:

Then you bought that stuff... You stumbled into rogue software

it has nothing to do with CCleaner, that you can download from http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds

Trojans will attach to innocent web sites and download to your pc, and when you open a program they can advise you to upgrade, thus linking you to their rogue site where malware downloads and infects you. That trojan would have probably advised you to upgrade when you opened any program.

It is a good policy to run Mbam several times daily to catch these nasty buggers, and have AV such as Avast always running.

What do you all mean by "run"? A full scan or update?

As you can see by my sign, I am someone in a forum experienced in malware removal and stuff like that...

I suggest you to update Mban everyday but there's no need to run a full scan several times a day everyday

provided that you do not visit dangerous sites every day or if you use cracked software, the which I do not bear

Remember that keygens will get a trojan inside of your system 99% of times

therefore choose a free software if you cannot afford commercial software

When someone posts here and puts the blame on CCleaner for being infected

either he is victim of rouge software (and he is not aware) or he wants to spam

therefore there's no need for the other members to argue about it as a result

For most, yes it's ott. And I admit to heightened paranoia. I've been the target of many malware attacks lately from visiting legitimate, innocent sites (no porn or sleaze for me). I keep sensitive company files on my equipment for homeworking, and should any of them fall into rogue/competitor hands my career would end abruptly, and then you could call me stupid for not quick scanning Mbam several times daily.

My career trumps your sardonicism.

Edit: @ Sig Seven_Eleven: Una scansione rapida, meno di cinque minuti. (A quick scan.)

I never called you stupid, I said it is stupidly ott to run a quick scan several times daily. On top of that a full scan is pretty much pointless any way.

If you are getting infected often then id suggest re thinking your browsing habbits. Browser/addons etc. I cant even remember the last time i had a little infection.

Seven_Eleven: 99% of keygens are not infected. They are just flagged as dangerous. But thats not a topic thats allowed to go in detail here.
