englishmen
rridgely i don't want to put you off DeepBurner but i tried that on my free software hunt and the first plain data disc i attempted to write ended its life as beer coaster and then a Frisbee for my Staffordshire bull terrier. That was enough for me to stay away but it may have just been something on my pc or something i done.
Moderators rridgely Posted September 19, 2005 Author Moderators Share Posted September 19, 2005 Thanks for the warning Englishmen. I have burned a couple of cds and it worked fine. The first time it wastes a disc its gone.

Moderators Andavari Posted September 20, 2005 Moderators Share Posted September 20, 2005 I like and use CDBurnerXP Pro 3. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've been wanting to try that out for awhile. Might just have to take the plunge and download it.
englishmen
I think its kinda strange how small the cd/dvd burning market is i mean as for a complete burning app in terms of what it can burn there is really only one major player Ahead. boekanier
There was something wrong with the site. Didnot react on preview and post. Then there was a message that the url could not be found. When I got contact again it appeared that my post was listed twice. So I replaced the message herewith. boekanier
DeepBurner http://www.snapfiles.com/get/deepburner.html This one is very nice and is the one I'm currently considering to keep. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well I tried this several times but could not work with it. So I have deleted it. Much better, according to me, is Burn4Free http://home.b4f.burn4free.com/ which I use (next to Nero). By the way does anyone knows a good freeware LabelCreator program. The main goal is to insert a tracklist of mp3 files from WebRadioStations. I do not succeed in making a right label with the software included in Nero. Moderators Andavari Posted December 27, 2005 Moderators Share Posted December 27, 2005 On my WinXP system I think I'll continue using my old copy of RecordNow 6 and burnatonce. On my Win98 system I uninstalled Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum because it was always loosing my preferred configuration choices which was getting very annoying, however I do miss the verification of the written disc to make sure there's no errors. Thanks to rridgely for posting a link to DeepBurner Free I'm now using it on my Win98 system which has worked flawlessly, at least it did with the four backup CD-RW's I've created so far, and that's all I need it for on my old system is to just create those four backup CD-RW's. I just wish burnatonce work on my Win98 system, but it doesn't and never has. Much better, according to me, is Burn4Freehttp://home.b4f.burn4free.com/ 18917 I'm going to give that one a try as well, and see if I like it any better than DeepBurner Free. Although I like DeepBurner Free the GUI is a bit of a jumbled mess, but hey it's free and does the job.
Moderators Andavari Posted December 27, 2005 Moderators Share Posted December 27, 2005 Burn4Free is out of the question! The first screen on the installer states it will install an IE toolbar just to use the program, which means I won't be using Burn4Free no matter how good it is. Moderators rridgely Posted December 27, 2005 Author Moderators Share Posted December 27, 2005 A few more burners here 25282 Thanks for managing to find the one page that gave me a pop up. I have decided that the best free burner hands down is burnatonce. Its fast and hasent coastered any discs yet.(using it for months now.) Just make sure you get the dvd burner plug in. 1984
I use Nero but it cost me cash. But hey, a one time investment. Before that, i used the record now program that came with my computer, and people kept telling me it was crap, but i burnt tons of music and data cds without incident for a couple of years. Soooooo.....

Moderators Andavari Posted December 31, 2005 Moderators Share Posted December 31, 2005 Record now has given me problems for a while now.(have ver 7 on my xp comp). 25596 I upgraded to Sonic RecordNow! Deluxe Dell Edition v6.5.0 when I got my system two years ago. It has never given me one problem. The reason I however don't like it is because it can't write audio CD's without the 2 second gap inbetween tracks -- however that's now solved with burnatonce and Burrrn, and I now only use RecordNow for writing data CD's since I absolutely must have file verification of the written data. Moderators rridgely Posted December 31, 2005 Author Moderators Share Posted December 31, 2005 It crashes all the time. I have reinstalled it atleast 3-4 times and it still does it. BAO works for me so I'll just continue on with it.
