Moderators DennisD Posted November 7, 2008 Moderators Share Posted November 7, 2008 One of the few reasons I launch Firefox now, is to use "DownThemAll", probably the best FF add on Download Manager I've used.
Anthony A
Down them all as Dennis said is good. I also find the build download manager/accelerator in IE7 Pro pretty good to. Maxthon 2 also has a built in download manager/accelerator that is good.
Keithuk
I need your opinion, who's the best : Download Accelerator Plus 8.7 ( free ) FlashGet 2.0 ( free ),is it safe ? I read their site marked as Adware/Spyware in SITEADVISOR Well I've used Download Accelerator Plus 5.3.9.5 for years only because I have the serial for it, which doesn't work on WinXP, the serial that is. I've downloaded the newer version but I don't like how they work so I'm sticking with my version. There are different free versions on FileHippo. Edit: It does work with WinXP. Moderators Andavari Posted November 8, 2008 Moderators Share Posted November 8, 2008 A good download manager is an add-on for Mozilla Firefox called DownThemAll!, it's super easy to use too. I like Orbit downloader. I used to use that but sometimes it would just mess up a download thus failing, and eventually that became more annoying than useful. Hi... I need your opinion, who's the best : Download Accelerator Plus 8.7 ( free ) FlashGet 2.0 ( free ),is it safe ? I read their site marked as Adware/Spyware in SITEADVISOR Orbit Downloader Free Download Manager Thank Download Accelerator used to be adware, don't know if it still is though but I wouldn't touch it because of the adware history it has. Supposedly FlashGet isn't adware anymore, but again something that used to be adware in the past doesn't give any confidence in ever garnering my trust. Wango
Octopus is the one I use. Seems to be faster than all the others I've used.
Moderators Andavari Posted November 22, 2008 Moderators Share Posted November 22, 2008 Octopus is the one I use. I've used Octopus before too. There's a ton of download managers listed on Softpedia's page starting here.
