Moderators Andavari Posted July 15, 2005 Moderators Share Posted July 15, 2005 I previously used it when Jouni provided it as freeware however he decided to go commercial. I used the freeware version up until it timed-out. It's a powerful tool "maybe too powerful" and definately isn't even nearly as safe as CCleaner. It has many options that can mess up a system without even trying. JV is Jouni's initials for Jouni Vuorio, hence the program name JV 16 PowerTools. Not bad for a very young and very smart programmer.

DjLizard
That's definitely not registry problems. That's either bad hardware, or a bad driver/service. Right-click My Computer, go to Properties, Advanced Tab, Startup and Recovery>Settings, and under 'System Failure', UNCHECK 'Automatically restart' (if not unchecked already). Next time your computer goes to auto-restart... you'll get a blue screen of death instead (which is infinitely more useful). If you ever get a blue screen, write down the STOP error code and all of the parameters (all of the numbers in parenthesis) and any text that is capitalized (stuff that looks like: "IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL", etc) and I'll assist you.
