Does the program target duplicate files for removal?

Hi Foxy,

CCleaner does not look for any duplicate files specifically.

If they happen to be in areas specified for cleaning then they would be deleted just as any other file.

Looking for duplicate files can be very risky, and I hope CCleaner never gains that feature personally.

If you use any other software that can find and remove duplicate files I surely hope you make a full system backup first, especially if things found are DLL files, and other operating system related files, or your Windows functionality may cease to function.

Hi Foxy, While CCleaner does not do this here is a link to a safe easy no install/portable program which does

Easy Duplicate Finder V2.1 at The Portable Freeware Collection

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
