Assistance needed

BlooAcid

Recommended Posts

Hello all, my name is BlooAcid and I need some assistance. Recently I used CCleaner fix registry issues and after that I've been having some trouble with windows. The next day I switch on my PC and windows gets stuck in the windows welcome startup screen(not when it's that blue color, when it's about to load, totally black with only mouse). I can still move the mouse but it's just black screen stuck but moving the mouse ain't much of a help lol. Though before fixing the issues I made a backup and now I have no idea how to get it back to it's place. I know, I should have read and learned how to do this all but I've been using CCleaner for a long time and I've done this fix registry issues for about 2-3 times and nothing really happened. The reason I think it's me using CCleaner carelessly is because the last thing I did before switching the PC off was the fix registry issues thing and the next day PC messes up. I wanted to buy a windows XP professional SP2 CD to boot from it and fix this with it's built in recovery console but as usual in a troublesome time it's hard as hell to find the solution lol. I would really appreciate if you guys help me out with this mess. By the way by any chances I can't reinstall because there are tons of extremely important data here. I'm really inexperienced with PC stuff so if you guys don't mind if it's something mumbo jumbo please explain it in a way I'd understand. :P

Thanks a lot people.

Cheers!

Well the first question I would ask is when you did a Registry clean did you save the backup file when you were asked? If you didn't as 80% of users don't then you need to startup in Safe Mode just tap the F8 key every second as the computer is starting up and select Safe Mode from the menu.

Once started do a system restore.

Always save the backup from the registry clean. ;)

Yes I did save a backup and I did try system restore but in the last confirmation screen when I press next nothing happens, I mean I can keep clicking and clicking but it goes nowhere.

Once again yea, I did save a backup and my question is how the heck do I get it back to it's place.

Thanks.

Edit: I found out a way to restore it, just double click the backup and press yes right? Anyway even after that nothing happened, still gets stuck in the windows welcome startup screen. I can't reinstall windows because there are extremely important data and I can't backup them all. :(

You guys have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance. :(

Well if you did use the backup facility then just start the computer up in Safe Mode find the reg files you saved and just double-click each of them. Just click Yes to put the registry info back in the registry. This will put back everything CC removed so you will be back the square one.

If you've put the backups back then there are other problems with your system that CC hasn't created. ;)

I can't reinstall windows because there are extremely important data and I can't backup them all. :(

Well that just shows what a crap system WinXP is. There is no true DOS unless you installed on a FAT32 system. You could startup in DOS and copy all your files to floppy or even a flash drive. ;)

I would use true image AT11 is able to do this image the drive as is it will create a full backup which you can later open and retieve files from save the backup to external drive. you need a booting computer to create a bootable rescue media

when that ATI rescue media is >create iso> burn iso on CD >created on a CD loading on affected PC>create Full Image of what all partions and whatever your interested or even just single out the files you need and create image ahve a play a little dont despair this is some powerfull mojo... you can recuperate more than 90% of files if theres no serious arm done to HDD.

I have experiences and theire many where I recovered 100% data after massive virus infection. to clients PC sucess rate 9 1/2 out of 10 no joke.

Reeintall windows and ATI11 and open that file (image) and navigate your way around essentially like navigating your pc but you can really use it just copy the files you want to safe place and thats it. or if you just chose backup my files and choose all the flies you needed then you can just restore them back on the fresh OS intall in thereir exact places and all... lavely

and if you continue to use ATI to create regular backups this willnever happen in fact Last time I reesintalled a os was so long ago I cant remember.... Love this Cutting edge imaging Tech...
