  1. I used Spybot, Zone Alarm, all those retro security apps long ago. I don't look in that direction anymore.
  2. It's the most non-intrusive anti-malware I've ever had. These and MSE are all I need.
  3. Every image in the history of the universe has been displayed. You have reached the end of side A. Please flip the tape over to side B and press Play.
  4. HTML5 flaw Your welcome, Hazelnut.
  5. My wallpaper/desktop changes every hour. And they're all designs I whipped up in seconds. And let's face it, desktops aren't as eye-candy as they were a decade or so ago. Thing is...we all grew up. (Or at least older.)
  6. I can't stand laptops, but I do love me some Win7. It's the next XP and Microsoft wants to kill it.
  7. I noticed a mess-up in a few fonts on boards that never happened before. Typically small fonts. But I do know it happened right after that KB update a few days ago. Adjustments in clear type didn't help. And the fun thing is sometimes normal looking font will morph/distort right before my eyes, like it did here right now. No LSD involved. (Otherwise I'd be bragging, right?)
  8. I saw one post at Bleeping PC (or whatever) that it messed up some guys' Live Mail thingy graphics.
  9. Platform Update for Windows 7 x64-Edition (KB2670838) What a nasty piece of work this is. And I doubt it has anything to do with what this thread was started for. But the fact that it messes up the fonts & graphics on my W7 PC just takes the cake. Anybody else out there enjoying Mr. Toads' Wild Ride with this update?
  10. It takes quite a while to navigate to page 24 to find out they still haven't fixed it yet. Thanks for the heads-up.
  11. Jeezum crow I'm glad I never progressed past PS2. Sounds as annoying as Twitter.
  12. Cyan, the company who made Myst games had to coerce nVidia to update their drivers in order for their cards to support Cyans' later Myst games. I was surprised at how fast nVidea reponded to them.

    OEM

According to the Enterprises' computer the universe is now a spheroid structure 705 meters in diameter and closing.

I have an HP Pavilion and I get the feeling that my warranty expired the moment I removed the shortcut icon to HP Support Assistant that was on the desktop when I first bought my PC.

    OEM

I assume big computer stores (ie. Best Buy, Fryes) don't have permission to modify any PC components before they're sold. They can package them with other external products but they can't change video cards, etc. before the PC's sold. I would then assume by the time the big stores get their shipments of new name-brand PCs in, they're technically all OEM at that point. People who build their own or modify their bought PCs wouldn't be covered by any OEM warranty or policy. I guess OEM has more to do with a PCs' warranty coverage than whether it's full of bloatware or not. Thanks for clarifying that for me Nergal.

    OEM

OEM definition This drives me nuts. If someone posts 'original equipment manufacturer', my brain automatically assumes that there must exist some negative alternative to OEM. What would that be? No PC is 100% made up of one single companies' products. So where does the term OEM end and its alternative begin? Okay I'll give a simpler question... Define the universe. Give 3 examples.
