I haven't messed around with Amber Lamps I mean Amberlight yet to create new desktops. Busy trying to figure out someone elses' PC that won't connect to the internet. Maybe later today I'll get a chance to make some. Now I'm hungry. See what you did, Lulu?

Aha. It's not the 'Help' link, it's the small 'down arrow' link NEXT to 'Help'. Sneaky.

Within MSE, where do you find what the current version is?

And I don't have to take the train every morning.

Same thing with your thermostat or particular non PC radio or TV program or water tap etc.

"Concept by BSOD"

Only taken them about 10 years
Still, thanks for the heads up Hazel!

I don't run betas so I'll just check back time to time.

FF's internal updater still points only to 32.0 Beta 1. I'll wait till it points to 32.

Welcome To Reformat City.
Population...You.

My first home game system was a Sega Saturn that came with Sonic The Hedgehog. I loved it. Many years before then it was strictly what was available in any mall arcade. Tank was pretty fun but I was horrible at it. Space Wars and Breakout were my favorites.

My last post on page 2 was the last time I replaced any erroneous update. No problems so far. I think Steve Ballmer is more focused on his newly bought LA Clippers basketball team than any puny MS issues these days.

Do you mean folders in the Recycle bin? Or do you mean duplicate folders in your system?

I just had to get a new phone yesterday because of that same problem. (Not a smart phone, just a cheapy flip phone. But the coincidence is weird.)

KB2918614. Thanks for that update Derek. I haven't had another BSOD since I removed the second one. I'll look for your new one now.
And there it is. System Restore point, and, removed.

I find the (sometimes multiple instances) Flash Player Plugin(s) running within and without FF are what's holding things up when starting a new browser session. Thank God for Sysinternals Process Explorer.

Sorry I should have included an O/T warning in my last comment. It is off topic, but not unrelated. Yesterday there was a concerned post in French, and now one in a Nordic language. I was just curious about localization since CCleaner is used pretty much world-wide.
-
I'm curious if CCleaner has a Localization dept. translating Help files in different languages. I have the free version but haven't noticed choices for different languages within the Online Help link. (Maybe just the pro version has that?

One thing I learned about 'cleaning up un-needed apps', make sure to not uninstall Microsoft or Windows related apps or (I have an Hewlett Packard PC) anything that came pre-installed with your PC via the particular brand of PC you bought. I have plenty of junk apps that sound third-party (or 4th party) that I never use like Cinema Now Media Manager, CyberLink DVD Suite Deluxe, LightScribe System Software, etc., blah blah blah.
It's all junk to me. But when I started uninstalling a few of them some very wonky stuff began happening to my display and audio and system. You know the massive Hive. And then there's shared dll's and common files, etc.

I would use my laptop more if it didn't have Win8 on it. I still very much loathe this OS.
Like most people.
And I can't get the hang of laptops either (when using someone elses laptop). The strong bright to dark gradient of the screen is annoying, and heaven forbid it's not hooked up to a mouse. I'm horrible using my catchers' mitt fingers on that tiny Saltine-sized touchpad. I go bonkers.

When you get a BSOD, in XP, can you Prt/Scr for a screenshot? Won't your clipboard lose what it had in it when you reboot?
