I actually like the concept of a touch screen. The computers in the cars at work are all touch screen and i love it. I would definately get a windows 7 system with a touch screen. My computer screens are always full of fingerprints from the kids anyways..........

Thanks for all the help guys...I will definately download returnil and give it a whirl for further testing so as not to mess things up. On the bright side, i figured out the problem. It was a corrupt installation of axcrypt (thanks so much for the link YoKenny-it totally did the trick!) that was causing the problem. Everything appears to be working good, but ill have to play with it more when i have a moment, but im off for another 12 hours of work in a few...

just windows firewall, defender, spybot, superanti spyware and spywareblaster...nadda else.....

dial a fix doesnt work for vista.......im gettting all kinds of errors now....including firefox not working, etc ill read some of those links furhter....just got home from a long day at work...

so i get the error message: error loading signature xml from sigs.xml and when i try to right click on anything that pops up. its super annoying. and the sound in my computer stops working and windows explorer keeps shutting down. i scanned the comp, clean of all spyware/virus, etc. and then did a system restore to awhile prior to it happening. nadda. all stays the same and annoying. i googled the error and it says it could be from an improper deletion of a program, problem is is that i dont know which one, so i cant search for the registry keys, etc. to delete manually! i was installing and uninstalling lots of programs while testing them out, and cant even remember which one it was. everything from opera to ie7pro, etc. lots and lots of programs. any suggestions? im at a loss and ready for a fresh install (which is a pain in the butt!)

I cant get it to work on my 64 bit comp either.....works fine on the 32 though...

well i installed and installed about (no lies) 40 times, and it finally (for whatever reason) took. now i have my old xp computer back up and running! so its sitting side by side with the new desktop.......

k, found the manufactures drivers n software 4 the moboard. used good old belarc...works like a CHARM.

hmmmm. wont let me install it. and a complete reformat and such would suck. any other suggestions?

Haven't had a lot of time to play with it yet, but the little bit i have seen so far, it may be my next browser choice.....

How do i find the manufacturer? how do i access device manager? and the sndvol32.exe is missing (his comp is a total mess) but i downloaded it and will instal it.

Hello all you trouble shooters out there. I have a wee problem. A buddies computer doesnt play sound. Nadda. I have his comp at my place including speakers. How do i check what drivers are needed for the speakers, and/or what else could be needed/wrong to get the sound back for him? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I only tried opera for a very short period a couple of years ago and wasnt too much into it. after seeing this thread, i tried it again last night and couldnt believe the speed difference. i will have to play with it a bit to get used to it and see if it is to my liking overall, but i have to admit, it was definately snappy and ill give it a shot.

Hey humpty, i actually did try another cd drive, and got the same result....but it was an old drive too, so i cant be sure it isnt perhaps junk too..... The problem is, is that in the past when i needed to reinstall, it was easy....it would start up, i would hit the f12 button, it would give me the options, and then i would reinstall from the little partition that ibm included on the disk drive. The partition is still there, as when i put the drive into an external and formated it, the little ibm partition with the reinstal info was still there, and untouched (i could see it in the paragon suite that i used to format). So i am kind of at a loss now.....but ill check bleeping computer some more to see if i can find a solution. oh, and i tried locating and downloading the "asm" file that i found on the net, and burned to a disk and tried loading...no go either. bummer.

Well i did that already (see my signature-desktop) but i still want to fiddle with this one...
