  1. Go to PortableApps.com and download Firefox Portable and install it. Copy your current plugins and profile in the appropriate folder. Extract the CORE folder from Waterfox and copy the contents into the FirefoxPortable\App\Firefox folder. BTW, the Plugins and Profile folder go into the DATA folder.

@Hazel....have you tried Palemoon? It's another variant of Firefox with x864 versions. PortableAppZ has an x864 of Palemoon

I just played with Watermark and noticed no difference then my x86 of 801 except my plugins have to be updated.

  2. It's been a few weeks so I figured I'd update.

Problem still exists and now I am more convinced it is Hardware. I initially thought that powering down and rebooting helped, but that was my imagination. I must have caught it the times it was working. The other day I tried to make copies using the ADF and the printer buttons (software does not factor in here) and the ADF did not engage. So I power cycled the printer and same thing. I have taken the roller assembly apart, looked it over closely....no broken pieces and still no luck. I need to get my hands on a service manual so I can see if there are any "GOTCHAS" that I am missing.

  3. The only suggestion I can make on this APP is to work on the Setup. I don't like any app that just runs and leaves traces behind when closing....though this extracted within the same folder as the Archive.exe resided. If he wants it left on the HDD, maybe prompt/suggest an installation location and create shortcuts for the program on the Desktop.

  4. I just checked my registry and I go up to .r29. I ran CCleaner and they did not show up...but I am using both WinRar and 7Zip. If you aren't using WInrar anymore, then I would guess they are leftovers.

  5. Yeah that's about the price I am seeing now for laptops. I hope you have good luck with it and don't have to get in touch with their support dept. Acer, Gateway and eMachine are the same company. I have an Acer Netbook and it was hell trying to get in touch with someone to get my battery replaced under warranty.

  6. The HID update should come automatically if you have a USB mouse plugged in. If it is not in your updates and it doesn't come down, you may have to hunt it down on MS site. I used to have the KB file stored locally but I can't find it since moving my files on this new HDD...sorry.

  7. Well looks like this will have to be postponed. Not sure if it was the culprit, but the HDD died this AM. I started the system up and tired running Speccy...system froze again. Powered off and BSOD. BIOS sees a HDD but that is the extend of it. Booted from a PE and all I see is the drive letter.

  8. Other not so great flashlights are those that have to be wound up with a hand crank.

Well I don't know about that. I have one of those on my desk along with a regular flashlight and many times I went to use a flashlight and the batteries were dead. I take out the handcrank and it works. ;)

  9. Although it's a bit old, the general concept was explained quite well here by a user. See from post 21 in this thread Tr3bg0D

There is a bit of a learning curve, but reading through the tutorial helped me. It has saved my backside a few times, so I'm pretty pleased with it. It packs quite a punch considering how lightweight it is.

Thanks guy....definately will give it a look. I am currently running Shadow Defender on my W7 and feel like I can "almost" run anything and reboot to return it to normal state. I think I like the idea of even having Sandboxie around to keep me from firing up VMWare to test something out.

  10. I just put reinstalled XP on an e-Machine. I ran Speccy and during the graphics scan, the system freezes.....locks up. "Three finger salute" does not work and all I can do is power off the system.

While I still have the system in my possession, I would like to see if I can fix it and submit some info. What do you guys need from me?

  11. If I recall, the built in Mail/Fax App did work, but I may have tested when the system was "in-connection" with the scanner.

I am more leaning toward the PowerSave problem...here's why. Today I had to scan after not using it for a couple of days. Before I put the paper in the try, I lifted the lid to wake up the scanner. I then put the paper in the scanner and the ADF wheels slammed down when scanning starts.

One thing I have I have not pointed out is that this is across a lan and not via USB connection...so that throws in another variable.
