I had a lot of problems with Update Notifier so I ditched it. I won't touch anything that says McAfee or Norton. Plus I rarely visit sites that aren't for school these days. I don't need NoScript either. But thanks!

I watched my SO build it because I had never installed a mobo before. It's really easy! The processor only took 2 seconds to put in. There was nothing to it really. It was only $350 which is the best deal I've seen. Yes, I'm poor, I can't afford the fancy shmancy stuff. But it's new! *another happy dance*

yeah, that's a good point. Wasn't sure how far the compatibility issue had come along. It seems like it should be okay by this point, it's been over a year since 64 bit platforms have been being used.

So cracked software doesn't ask for a product key for example? What's the difference between cracked software and me giving a copy of a windows cd, but not the product key to someone so that they have to use their own product key.

Well it turns out I have to get a new flash drive anyway. Tapped my new one from xmas out a few days ago. The only reason that I want a floppy drive is for diagnostic programs. For example, my mem tests, and hard drive diagnostic tools require a floppy. The .exe file only recognized floppies. kwim?

So I finally have a new computer. Just put it together yesterday. I've never had a new PC so this is really exciting. Here are some of the specs. I still need to add some of the lesser needed hardware such as floppy drive, etc.. Honestly, I have no idea. My SO bought it. I don't know anything about it really. That makes sense that it is just an application, so I shouldn't have to re-install windows which is a relief. Anyway, we searched high and low last night...cannot find the 2nd CD anywhere! Sheesh! Anyone have and ISO file for the 2nd CD? If I remember correctly, someone here once said that MS will replace lost CD's at low cost...is that right?

Maybe more info will generate a reply? I installed the 1st CD, when it prompted for the 2nd CD I hit esc, and it just continued with the installation of CD 1. My guess is that the 2nd CD is just the media center files.

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone had any advice about installing XP Media Center. It came with 2 CDs, but I can't find CD 2, so it only installed XP SP2. My question is that, when I find the 2nd CD can I still install it, or do I need to format and reinstall windows? Thanks!
