  1. 3.) if you want --> delete the unneeded system restore points with ccleaner (all points are deleteable but only the newest is grayed out for safety)

    Note that these deleted restore points are gone.

    2.) you can deactive it for this thing and after defragmentation reactivate

    1.) you have 2 partitions? --> move the pagefile to the other partition and after defragmentation move it back to c:\

  2. @tss

    FileKey1=%AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\ImplicitAppShortcuts|*.*|RECURSE

    i dont know exactly how it work but how is it with delete this section?

    i use shortcuts in quickstartbar too on w8.1 :-)

  3. Well, I wonder what this program is that I installed yesterday from the Ashampoo website.

    15 is the full- and paid-version.

    2016 is also a fullversion but slightly reduced and free. (perhaps based on the previous version or similar...)

    i have 2015 and its v1.15.2

  4. These sites suggest maybe its an issue with an older processor.

    mmmmh, perhaps. on my fresh installed xpsp3 is not a 64bit amd, but a athlon 2000+.

    the other one with xpsp3 has an athlon 3200+ 64bit (iron runs on this, qupzilla i dont have tried it yet on this system...)

    well. i can not have everything everywhere...

  5. @login123

    i use the zip-file - on another xp sp3 with netframework 2.0 sp2 and all updates (uninstalled ie8) "in the years" it run fine. but not on a fresh installed... :(

    @andavari

    i have only "real" updates and root certificates (but not security-updates) and no ie8, only netframework 2.0 sp2 + a handful of programms as piriform-things :-) and firefox installed. but not extra-software like c++2005/2008 or xml 4.0 or other things...

    with iron comes nothing, also not in the taskmanager, but with qupzilla comes a errormessage 2 times:

    ´Die Anwendung konnte nicht richtig installiert werden.(0xc000001d). Klicken Sie auf "OK", um die Anwendung zu beenden.´

  6. does anyone have an idea why qupzilla does not run on fresh installed xp sp3?

    do i need any other software to install in xp for qupzilla? what kind of software must i install for qupzilla to run? (c++ xxx or so)?

    the same problem i have with SRWare Iron...

    Providing updates for Chrome for XP through 2015

    Posted: Thursday, April 16, 2015

    On April 8, 2014, Microsoft stopped supporting Windows XP. This isn’t just a formality: computers running Windows XP haven’t received security patches in over a year and are facing a number of critical security vulnerabilities. At the operating system level, computers running XP are inherently in danger of being infected by malware and viruses, making it increasingly difficult for Chrome to provide a secure browsing environment. That’s why we strongly encourage everyone to update to a supported, secure operating system.

    That said, we know that not everyone can easily switch to a newer operating system. Millions of people are still working on XP computers every day. We want those people to have the option to use a browser that’s up-to-date and as safe as possible on an unsupported operating system. We previously announced that we’d keep supporting Chrome on Windows XP through ‘at least’ April 2015. It’s April 2015 now, and we’re extending that commitment. We will continue to provide regular updates and security patches to Chrome on XP through the end of 2015.
