  1. Also, Aurora as a branch is no more. The release model has been changed from Nightly- > Aurora -> Beta -> Release to Nightly -> Beta -> Release. Dev Edition users migrated to beta on desktop and aurora users on Android migrated to Nightly.

why not changed from nightly to aurora?  shame on mozilla...

  2. the free version is your second link :) all 3

    on your old firefox shortcut:

the first link for free version download dont work in my case
but if you scroll down, there is another link to download the free version. this link give you the standard installer version.
and if you scroll down to the bottom of the page you can click on builds

and with this you are by your second link ;)

ps: choose the slim with your second link...

  3. the most compatible part to microsofts office is word.

but for example many text-formattings does not showing the other compatants correctly or very well. (openoffice and libreoffice in my case)

and the other office parts (spreadsheet/powerpoint) are more even bad compared to ms office. (if there are created with ms office)

so you should decide for an office vendor and then create everything with this program, then there are no problems (compatibility).

i have nukecads softmaker too :-) on a cd

I believe OpenOffice has officially been discontinued and the developers are going to be combining LibreOffice and OpenOffice into one. All the work has moved to LibreOffice. OpenOffice actually suffers from some security holes that the few remaining developers that stayed behind before it discontinued couldn't patch out.

openoffice was taken by oracle from sun and goes on. but the developers were different opinions. one part works on openoffice and the other on libreoffice. the libreofficeteam has more innovations and compatibility implemented in his office. but not everything for the benefit of the user as i mean (for example the menu bar is now full of unsightly symbols perhaps to be different from openoffice style) i dont know how it is in version 5.x.x, i have yet the version 4.4. with libre and version 4.1.2 with open.

  4. v381.65 from 6.april 2017

    What’s New in Release 381

Note: Windows Vista support was deprecated in Release 367, and Windows XP is deprecated in Release 370.

xp support end from ms was 04.2014 --> nvidia v370 (07.2016)

vista support end from ms was 04.2017 -this month! --> nvidia v367 (05.2016)

but nvidia means vista support can closed before xp... 3 years after xps end but more as a half year before vista ending

i dont know until today that nvidia seems to be a bunch of comedians <_<;):D

  5. ublock v1.12.1

    gorhill released this

No code change, just a re-package with more recent filter lists to ensure uBlock Origin works out of the box with EasyPrivacy without breaking Facebook upload feature: a filter in EasyPrivacy was causing a false positive.

For existing installations, just force an update of EasyPrivacy.

I did not look into the details, but at first glance it seems the false positive appeared as a result of Facebook changing its code. It's unlikely sites such as Facebook (who would rather not encourage the use of blockers) would test their pages when using a blocker in order to ensure their site still works fine with a blocker.

Today I learned: a whole lot of users have no clue that most blockers work based on filter lists which can cause false positives. The Facebook issue would have happened with any blocker making use of EasyPrivacy.

False positives must be reported to filter list maintainers (not here), and often just forcing an update of filter lists may resolve an issue (because maybe somebody else reported the issue and it was fixed by maintainers).

    • New visual design for audio and video controls

    • Ended Firefox Linux support for processors older than Pentium 4 and AMD Opteron

but i dont need a new 2 hours session for the other last 120 <_<B)

  8. ublock v1.12.0

    gorhill released this

    Changes

New static network filter option: badfilter. Using this option will prevent another filter to be loaded in memory. See uBlockOrigin/uAssets#192 for rationale for having such a filter option.

    Chromium/Firefox WebExtension

Ability to support more request types from webRequest API: csp-report, font, media, websocket, and actually whatever is part of webRequest.ResourceType. This means uBO will be able to natively filter websocket connection attempts starting with Chromium 58.

    Firefox

The webext version for Firefox has been converted into a hybrid version, to allow seamless migration of uBO's settings/data from a legacy extension to webext extension. I consider this webext version of uBO to be fit to release to AMO if the current stable Firefox version (52) supported all the proper WebExtensions API required by uBO. All the blocking issues have been resolved, but the fixes will be available in a future stable version of Firefox.

Update: due to auto-update snafu, the webext version of uBO has been given a different id than the official one, this will guarantee that auto-update won't cause issue (you will have to update manually if using the webext version).

Important: If you install the webext version of uBO (you need the most recent build of Nightly), this is what will happen:

When you launch uBO/webext for the first time, it will read all your settings/data from the old storage and migrate them to the new webext storage. This happens only if uBO/webext can find a file named ublock0.sqlite. This will happens only once, the first time you install uBO/webext. Depending of how much data there is to migrate, this may cause your browser to work hard during that first launch and delay readiness.

Once the data from the uBO/legacy has been migrated to uBO/webext, each version of uBO will only see its own data, meaning no change in settings in one version will be seen by the other version. If you remove uBO/webext, this also removes the storage associated to it, meaning re-installing uBO/webext following removal will cause the storage migration code to kick in again.

    Closed as fixed:

    Chromium

    EdgeFirefoxFirefox/WebextensionCore
  9. but for the other security option like firewall, virusprotection, spywareprotection there are a option to disable the security center warnings.

    for ex.:

    vistasicherheio2ye4gq3jm.jpg

i have another software installed and monitoring itself.

the status of spyware protection is not monitored by the security center, and you will not receive any warning.

  10. the 1. easy way is as hazelnut used. (deactivate windows update -not the service, one click at the taskbar to close the warning in the taskbar)

the 2. easy way is to disable all warnings from vista security center.

--> right on the security center --> change the security center notification method --> dont send notification and dont display the icon (not recommended)

    vistasicherheiylxu5dt48b.jpg

specially for notifications about windows update, there is no option available in vista.

    vistasicherhei9q0bvzjiod.jpg

  11. The only thing is windows security center is going to complain every time I start my PC!

im too lazy to start my vista-pc ;-) i mean there is it:

System Control -> Control Center -> on the left -> Maintenance Center Settings -> remove the check mark on "Windows Update"

  12. hi,

i was recently in a public association. there ran a computer with Windows 7 64 bit on an AMD II X2 240 with 2 GB Ram (in a network). For the display are available an onboard graphic and probably a Geforce 630 (if I have correctly seen, im not sure). Avira Antivirus free is installed.

there was still a Kaspersky Anti-Virus installation, at which the usage period has expired. This I have uninstalled.

the ram usage is 1,2 GB only with showing desktop.

    autostart is only grafikdriver, avira...

i have looked at the whole only volatile, in any case, the processor is almost in low usage.

the startprocedure seems to be fine.

the computer responds quite sluggishly or it takes a few seconds or longer for something to be called up.

the computer probably comes from the university. I can not imagine that this computer ran with this bad performance so in the university ...

    my questions:

    is this normal?

is it the 64bit version because it slow down or is it the amount of ram or what else?

    perhaps wrong driver?

has anyone had a clue or already experiences with something like that?
