I have looked through the exact folder where themes are kept C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Themes and the only theme I see in there is named "Custom" and I did not see anything that could resemble any themes that were made before since I never save custom themes and name them.
However, there is an annoying situation for wallpapers. If you right click a picture on a web page and set it as desktop background, it saves this somewhere in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft which is not very easy to navigate into. I believe that this should be kept in the Pictures folder instead of this hard-to locate area. I am aware of this so I never directly set images on web pages as desktop backgrounds. I always go to the Control Panel>All Control Panel Items>Personalization>Desktop Background and then choose a folder where multiple images are kept and set them as a slideshow as my wallpaper.
If you open Windows Explorer, then right click an image there to set as desktop background, the same thing happens, however a duplicate of the image is again saved somewhere in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft. Even if you delete the original image that you once right clicked and set as desktop background via Windows Explorer, the duplicate image is still there.
One solution is to make a desktop shortcut for C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Themes so that you have quick access to this folder and manually delete older themes that are automatically saved in there.
However, I believe this is a good idea.

1. There are some drivers/updates and such I want to hide showing up in the uninstaller and I can't remove it's entry (MSI installer) and I don't want to uninstall it, is it possible to add a function where you can hide entrys from showing up?
2. Cleanup of the Google Earth cache.
3. Cleanup of the whole system from common and safe to erase junk files, also including an option to add custom filetypes for advanced users.
4. Empty folders finder.

Well in the case of hiding entries you don't want to keep showing after you made a scan, I suggest you add them to the ignore list. Options>Exclude>Add File/Add Folder/Add Registry.
If you can manually locate the folder where the Google Earth cache is kept, you can manually add that to the Include list. Options>Include>Add Folder/Add File. You can also use this function to clean folders where there are junk files, however this can be unsafe if any necessary files are deleted.
Adding custom file types is good idea however, there is still a risk that some necessary files might get deleted in this procedure just because they share a common file type with those you would often find as junk files.

Thanks for your advice, I though to place it in the "ignore list" 'cause it doesn't affect the performance of my pc. I would like to know what is this registry, why internet explorer generates it everytime I start the browser? some of you know what this dmnd HKCU\software\appdatalow is?

Mate, the Registry is a complex and vast database of information that can be used to modify so many things in your computer and its found on Microsoft Operating systems. It also contains info about all your installed programs. If you go to the Start Menu and open Run, type regedit then pres ENTER, you'll see the Registry Editor but do not touch or attempt to modify any data in there unless you know what you are doing. If any important data is wrongly edited, changed or removed in the Registry, that can make your computer inoperable or something will cease to function.
The reason why the Registry needs cleaning is that some keys or data in there become invalid or corrupt. If a huge number of corrupt or invalid entries are lingering there, then your computer would supposedly have reduced performance. If you remove a program for example, its registry key remains and that needs to be removed as well so that's where the registry cleaners come into play.
I suggest you look around this forum and seek other answers if you have any more questions and doubts. You should also look for a program that can make a good backup of your Registry in case of error. Good luck.

You know Homer Simpson had the same idea after shoveling piles of snow outside their front door, telling Lisa that he is shoveling "tons of global warming". Lisa simply replied, that global warming affects the climate, both hot and cold. I believe in that, global warming doesn't only generate hot temperatures but also triggers severe cold on other areas. I think you better Google search for the answer on that.
Believe me it 31 degrees Celsius in where I live right now and that is only the average room temperature, surely its hotter in the outside. Its been some time since it rained hard enough and we are now about to face drought or El Nino in Spanish.

Duplicate themes??? Never heard of them. I use Windows 7 and it has pre-made themes and I do not save custom ones. As long as you don't save custom themes, I don't think there is anything to worry about duplicate themes. Windows 7 is by far the best operating system by Microsoft and clearly, the link shows solutions to some annoyances.

That might make CCleaner take way longer to complete the cleaning process. Try doing 3 passes or 7 passes first and see if any trails remain. Good luck.
Are you saying that you already have the 35 passes option enabled and still browsing trails remain???

Open CCleaner, go to Options, then Settings, scroll down and mark the dot that says Secure File Deletion, then choose an overwrite method but this will make it longer for CCleaner to complete the cleaning process.

You can add it to the ignore list. However there are registry cleaners that fix certain problems but when you scan again, they reappear. CCleaner on a number of occasions detect something like this and then after you fix them, they reappear eventually.One of the reasons is that some registry keys are automatically recreated.
If it bothers you, I suggest you add it to the ignore list by going to Options>Exclude>Add Registry. If it does not significantly affect the performance of your PC, then there is very little reason to worry about it.

I used a vacuum cleaner once but its just big and would take time to set up just to get my PC clean. I do manual cleaning with the toothbrush and some cloth. I would take off the side cover and clean it from there. I also removed the TV tuner and the video card for a few times so that I could clean those things better.
After making this thread, I decided to clean my PC yesterday.

There you go, I'll bet you wish you had never asked, but seriously I saw what happened to PC boxes many years ago when take off the lid's when they had not been touched for 4 to 5 years.................you really don't want to know.It will be interesting to see just what sort of response is forthcoming.
No, I don't really regret that I asked this, in fact like what you said, its interesting to see what the others will have to say when it comes to how often do they clean their CPU. I think its a personal choice but lets see who gets a good point.

OK as the title would suggest from above and to make things alive in this seemingly forsaken section of the forums, lets talk about how often do you clean the inside or even the outside of the CPU to keep the computer running smoothly.
Another purpose of this is so that we will have a chance to share why or when we have to do this so that our machines keep their hardware tweaked as well.
Some of you can share the problems they noticed on their computers with a dirty CPU over the years.

Yes, I''m a bit conservative when it comes to hard disk space too even if its only a quarter full.I find myself installing and uninstalling applications daily.For example something like defraggler. i dont use it weekly. Or monthly. so only install it whne i want to use it then uninstall.

Even if this "exabyte" exists, according to Wikipedia 1 exabyte is equals to 1 billion gigabyte and now make that 11 billion gigabytes, I don't think that a drive for a PC even has one tenth of that capacity exists today. In fact, Mozilla's dictionary doesn't even recognize this word since its rare.
If you add up the sum of MBs of the deleted items there below, its impossible they would reach to that number.

OK, if these key cannot be removed but its not making significant effect to your computer speed, there are few reasons why you should worry about getting rid of this Google Toolbar Key. You do not have to religiously try to remove keys in the registry that you think is invalid.
The reason for this I think is that the toolbar actually came with your CCleaner installer and its registry component has been attached there as well and could be irremovable as long as CCleaner is also installed.
You can also do a virus scan, there is a possibility that this could be part of a malware that has infected the registry if it has been there for unknown reasons.

When I run CCleaner, it reports 11.99 Exabytes (11,993,297,347,015.4MB) was cleaned. Impossible.

You obviously faked it. Looking at the list of deleted items, they could not possible add up to the number of "exabytes" you said were cleaned. It seems impossible and very unlikely for a PC to have even one thousand terabytes and you know that the word "exabytes" doesn't even exist. I think you better post it here in this thread instead.

I opened both browsers present, FF & IE7, and there are no Google Toolbar(s) (or any other unknown items) present.
Didn't know about that ability to show the files to be cleaned, that's great (I said CCleaner was a Good App). But there are no Google Toolbar files to be cleaned (because the Google Toolbar is Not installed). An Empty registry entry for it was Deleted previously.
As to not looking deep enough... searching the entire registry, there are 945 hits (keys, values, and data) for "Google". Two of them contain "Google Toolbar":

HKEY_USERS
S-1-5-21-796845957-1993962763-725345543-1003\Software\Piriform\CCleaner(App)Google Toolbar
The second is of course only present when CCleaner is Open. If the first is Deleted, CCleaner restore it next time it's Opened. Either there's some Secret Baloney going on (IE & Adobe both are guilty of this), or CCleaner is Assuming the Google Toolbar exists based on the presents of the main \Software\Google\ keys. This isn't worth the trouble, just admit the program simply infers the presents of the Google Toolbar from the wrong registry key!

You must remember the time you installed CCleaner, you must have installed the toolbar with it since when you install CCleaner, the options to install such toolbars are checked by default so they must have got installed somehow then improperly removed and I suspect that as long as CCleaner is installed, the keys that relate to those toolbars cannot be removed.
One option is you uninstall CCleaner and remove the CCleaner registry key plus those Yahoo or Google toolbar registry keys yourself, just be careful though. You can install CCleaner again and make sure that the toolbars will not be installed by unchecking options for those in the installation process.
OR you will have to install a new build of CCleaner called CCleaner Slim which you can download from this link. CCleaner Slim doesn't have the toolbar installer included so it could prove a better choice.

Wow that's a lot. If you see references there to programs that you have already uninstalled, those will be the safest to remove or fix. If you have uninstalled Norton for example, the keys there that says Norton will be safe to fix.
I think 95-98 percent of what CCleaner detects in there will be safe to fix but best if you back them up first.

And Google Earth does indeed appear in the Application\Applications list, not Applications\Internet, two separate categories.
But none of this address exactly how CCleaner recognizes items for it's cleaning lists, except perhaps my noting that removing all \Software\Yahoo\ keys removed the Yahoo Toolbar reference?

Maybe you are just not looking deep enough. What you can do is open CCleaner, make sure you have the Yahoo or that Google category checked in the cleaning module and click Analyze. If the Yahoo or Google appears on the list, double click at them from the list and that should give you the destination folders where those data are kept and from there you can see the Yahoo or Goggle folders.
I suggested that you open Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer, go to View near the top of the screen, then Toolbars and see if any toolbars are still there that are not shown or enabled.

Well did you open all the Internet browsers in your computer and see if any toolbars were installed in any one of those??
I suspect that if the toolbars do not exist, they have somehow been installed in the past and improperly removed so besides the registry entries they have left behind, there could be remnant folders somewhere is these locations:
C:\ProgramData
C:\Users\name\AppData
C:\Program Files
Try looking for something that says Yahoo or Yahoo Toolbar in those folders plus the folders that are in those locations and if you see any that says Yahoo or Yahoo toolbar, delete them and run CCleaner's registry fixer tool.
Also, you can open your browser and go to View, then Toolbars and see if any third party toolbars are installed but not enabled or shown.
If Google Earth is still installed, I wouldn't be surprised why Google will still appear on the CCleaner's cleaning module. It may be because CCleaner wants to delete log files or any temporary data that has anything to do with Google Earth.

I believe that the ability to delete older restore points are available in the latest versions of CCleaner in fact I just used this function minutes ago. Just go to Tools>System Restore. Here is a screenshot in this link... Take note of the CCleaner version I am using.
