Looks like a lot of unallocated space. You can create a small partition with that. Or maybe shrink the two other partitions and make a third partition out of the unallocated space with sufficient size.

I personally have the Advanced option all checked except the Wipe Free Space. If you do not worry about custom folder views on Windows Explorer or the list of recently opened files and programs on the Start Menu and the tray history of tray icons on the side panel, having all categories under Advanced checked except Wipe Free Space should be fine. You do get a lot of rubbish from the Advanced category but the Wipe Free Space should be given the most caution.

I think you should just get a newer motherboard compatible with video card on VGA plus a newer motherboard means better compatibility with newer operating systems, newer video card supports newer games and applications.
If you have some trouble with lags as you suspect that this has something to do with the video card, you can try disabling a few visual effects. Right click My Computer on the desktop, choose Properties then you can disable a few visual effects somewhere from the Advanced option. This will somehow lessen the pressure on your video card, decrease RAM usage and lessen lags.
Also consider getting updated drivers for your video card. Maybe a recent driver for it was released and perhaps installing that will improve your video card's performance.

It would be good to add such a feature but CCleaner can include individual folders for cleaning. Go to Options>Include>Add.Hello,Feb 2010
Vista Ultimate (likely all Vista versions) is using the following location for temporary folders / files:
C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local
as well as
C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local\Temp
Please add these to your cleanup list in CCleaner!

I actually have a problem with my Windows Live Movie Maker. It won't uninstall. The way to uninstall it is to uninstall Windows Live Essentials which does not uninstall no matter if I use Windows own uninstallment module or CCleaner.

My PC isn't that new actually but the NVIDIA did not come preinstalled with it. The PC is 22 months old but I got the video card just 2-3 months after the PC set.During shipping hardware can become loose inside of a PC with all the bumping and knocking around, and if your PC is new it's worth a try to unplug the display card and to re-insert it.And yes, I tried to unplug then reinserted the video card when it was failing a few days ago which is in my story above but it did not start working normally again immediately after that.
Of course use all the proper safely precautions by unplugging your PC and pressing the power button for several seconds to dissipate the electrical buildup before touching any components on the inside of the PC.I do recall from last week that we had sudden power outages for repeated times that might have impacted some errors on the PC. But it seems to be working fine at the moment with everything even the video card working as they should be.

Andavari, I did say my NVIDIA video driver is working fine. Although I had another problem last night cause my Internet is not working, I keep rebooting the system and the video card fails at one point again, I plugged the monitor to the standard graphics port, and before my computer starts, it asked me for a disk check which I did. And after rebooting it again, the video card worked.
I did a system restore after that cause I suspect my system has been a bit buggy although it has never slowed down but doing that removed the updates I recently installed, good thing I had a backup of those drivers that were deleted. I also saved a backup of my current NVIDIA driver and that is all thanks to a free program I use that can make driver backups but how to restore them actually is still a bit of a question, I guess I have to do it from the device manager if it does not automatically search for preconfigured folders containing the backed up driver.

Hi, I was wondering if you can suggest any free program that can remaster MP3 files so that I can improve the sound quality of some of my MP3 music files. I have this MP3 music file of an unreleased song and it doesn't even feature a bass guitar, I was hoping if I could remaster the song digitally, I can improve its quality.

Well there is a comparative issue on the topic on this link. Disabling the enabling system protection could make the restore points visible again but you did say that at least the latest restore point did show.

With regards to Windows Updates and drivers, here is my little story which puzzles me at this point.
My NVIDIA video card has mysteriously failed a few days ago. Nothing would show up when I turned on the PC and the monitor was of course turned on as well.
I decided to open the CPU and clean the video card which I did just maybe a week before that but still it fails. I had to plug the monitor to the old video adapter. When I turned on my PC, as expected, Aero display did not work and the game Quake III Arena Demo won't start. I checked for updates from Windows Updates and I got SiS Driver Update for Accelerated Graphics Port andSilicon Integrated System Corp. Display- SiS Mirage 3 Graphics but those two did not appear in the updates list when my video card was still working fine. I installed them along with a Cumulative Update for Windows Media Center and those three are the only updates I chose to install at that moment. I restarted the PC, the Aero is still impossible for my video adapter but at least I can play Quake III Arena again.
A few reboots later, even the default video adapter does not work only to realize that the NVIDIA video card started working again. When I plugged the monitor back to the NVIDIA video card, the display suddenly worked again, everything was fine, Aero interface was back and everything to normal. But I do not feel that the updates I installed were connected with the video card issue as they were probably meant for the default video adapter not the NVIDIA video card.
This is the strangest experience I had when handling drivers.

The method of backup may somehow vary depending on the operating system. There are many forms of backup. I suggest you do Google search for that depending on the computer you are using. On Vista and Windows 7, its on the control panel, then Backup and Restore. The procedures won't be hard.
Backup may vary from creating restore points, to saving files to separate drives where they can be recovered after the system has failed. Another is registry backups where copies of removed or repaired registry keys are saved somewhere and can be merged again if needed.
One thing that is easy for me to say is that backups are important and they are very important if the data that are backed up are very important. In case your system does fail any important data that have been backed up can be recovered in one piece or at least most of it can be restored.

Back on the topic, CCleaner is considerably fast and easier to use compared to old fashioned computer maintenance techniques that are done without third party programs but CCleaner alone obviously does not have all the utility stuff needed to fully maintain the system.
Microsoft operating systems don't even have their own modules for registry cleaning whereas CCleaner does.

Well I don't know the whole story so I would like to learn from other guys as well and maybe they can share some knowledge based from their experience with this.

The problem with downloading specific drivers from the website is that some drivers have features that your video card model does not support. Those drivers are compatible with the video card but certain features were really meant for other models that support such features.
However, the driver update you see on Windows Update is probably meant for your video card model but its always Optional rather than recommended.
Most of the Recommended updates from Windows Update are usually related to security more that anything else. But I personally think they are not that useful at all. They also have reliability and program compatibility updates but the update I want from Microsoft is something that would heal the system from errors that are causing sluggish performance so you would not need to install the operating system as often cause it could not handle the errors anymore.

I was wondering which of the recent updates you get from Windows Update are the most important. I have only chosen to install 3 updates from numerous others.
There is this Microsoft Software Removal Tool that can be obtained via Windows Update and based from my experience in the past this tool should appear if you type mrt on the search box of the Start Menu and its goal is to look for malicious programs but claims to be not a replacement for antivirus programs. A new version of this is released every few months.
There is also a driver update for my video card from NVIDIA although my current driver is working fine so I decided not to install it. The full specification of the current video card driver is NVIDIA GeForce 7300 SE/ 7200 GS (Microsoft Corporation -WDDM). That driver was probably installed when Windows 7 was installed although I wasn't the one who happened to install Windows 7 in my PC. I was wondering what is this (Microsoft Corporation -WDDM) that takes part in the name of my video driver although when I install the driver from the installation disk, it doesn't have that.

I would not suggest you try and fix those PC Doctor related keys. You can try adding them in the ignore list. Just because CCleaner detects and is suggesting to fix those keys, that doesn't mean that CCleaner is aiming to make other programs ruined in case something goes wrong.
If fixing those keys will not greatly affect the performance of your PC, then there is little reason to fix it now that it has a certain risk that something might get wrong.

I do feel that CCleaner has more bugs in the 64-bit versions of Vista and Windows 7.

I was wondering. We've been getting scores of people who said that there are these CCleaner programs that are paid. We couldn't really say for sure if they had mistaken CCleaner for some other registry cleaners but its too coincidental that many people have mistaken CCleaner in the same way. Could it be that another registry cleaner is being downloaded in the Internet that has itself disguised as CCleaner in a manner that it takes advantage of the genuine CCleaner's popularity?
And these people who have these paid CCleaner claims must have gotten these paid CCleaners from these adds that actually link up to download other registry cleaners.
If it was another program, it should have another name and a different interface labeled to them when they are installed and opened in the desktop. What I cannot understand is that they still say that those paid programs they got was CCleaner. I think we need a screen shot of those paid CCleaners so we shed more light to the truth.

I do remember CCleaner and some other programs that I used to scan the registry use nearly 100% CPU usage on Vista at some time but I do not recall it making very large backup files.
Lets take example of one of the large backup files. Are you sure that would be 332,840 KB (three hundred thirty-two thousand eight hundred forty kilobytes) or simply 332.840 KB ( three hundred thirty-two point eight hundred forty kilobytes)???
The only thing I suspect that made my programs such as registry cleaners and antivirus have so much CPU usage while scanning is by changing the computer's driver from ACPI x86-based PC which is the default to Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC. I did this from the Device Manager in the Control Panel. If you have changed or modified a comparative driver of some sort on Vista, I suspect this could be the problem why a certain program gets too much CPU usage. I repeat, DO NOT change drivers of anything in the Device Manager.
However, it could also be the work of a virus. Also consider, reinstalling CCleaner or maybe using an older version.
