I think that all the other drives than a system drive, are pretty safe from infections.

Yes, you have to be careful when using registry cleaners. They might cause a lot of troubles, if you delete wrong entries. But, cleaning a registry that got plenty of "errors", can give a major performance boost.

There's now a malicious .pdf attachment spreading, that utilizes this new Acrobat vulnerability. File can be named, i.e. as: report.pdf. Email can be named, i.e. as: Your credit report, Personal Financial Statement, Balance Report and Your Credit File.

I thought finding more stuff in Safe Mode must be normal
It's not "normal". Why it should find more entries in safe mode? Only thing is that in safe mode, you possibly can delete some entries, that you can not in normal mode. I mean that if some keys are somehow locked by OS in normal mode. That's rare though...

I have once ran some of my reg. cleaners on safe mode, but they didn't found anything new. Haven't used RM though... It's interesting (and strange) that it founds more entries on safe mode... at least in your case.

IMO, secure deleting temp files is a little bit over the top. Atleast with 20 or 35 passes...

RegSeeker is now at 1.55
I has been 1.55 for a long time. Why did you now bring that up?
Xtyne: Did you uninstall with Flash Uninstaller? If not, do so: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flash...lash_player.exe

'Regseeker' and 'safe' are not two words I'd put together.
That's right. RegSeeker isn't very safe. You have to be very careful on what you decide to delete with it. Anyway it's a good cleaner, it founds very well correct invalid entries.

So they probably are just leftover registry entries. You can remove them with this program: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download460.html
Go to 'Uninstall menu', select those Java entries and hit "Remove selected". By default, backup is made.

I use Opera, so no worries.
Anyone actually use real player anymore? I hope not... thats about as bad as having a virus.I could say the same thing about IE...
Patch available here: http://service.real.com/realplayer/securit...1007_player/en/
Direct download link: http://service.real.com/realplayer/securit.../securitydb.rnx
RealPlayer 10.5 and RealPlayer 11 beta users should install the following patch to address this security vulnerability that aims to cause buffer overflow that could provide the potential for an attacker to run arbitrary or malicious code on a user’s PC

Noticed from the RealPlayer log, that this file was updated: C:\Program Files\Real\RealPlayer\plugins\MPAMedia.dll.

Andavari: What's that Temp cleaner you got?

Btw, how many of you folks know the fact, that Nokia is from Finland?

Opera 9.24 is out: http://www.opera.com/download/
This release is a recommended security upgrade.
Fixed an issue where external news readers and e-mail clients could be used to execute arbitrary code, as reported by Michael A. Puls II. See our advisory.
Fixed an issue where scripts could overwrite functions on pages from other domains. See the advisory. Issue reported to Opera by David Bloom.

I got this one: http://www.astel.com.ua/img/user/news/news_samsung_e700.jpg
I have got it about 3 years.

I have 18 to 20 processes running depending on the machine.
I got 19 - 20 processes running. 20 when browser (Opera) is running.

Two very simple and basic Temp file cleaners, that i bumped to:
TempCleaner By default cleans only Windows\Temp folder, but you can add custom folders to it. Very lightweight cleaner. Can be run silently.
Win TempCleaner Cleans out 3 different Temp folders (if exist). So ONLY Temp folders. Single file - no installation.

Nice one England. One more to go.
I guess that Rugby is for England pretty much same as what ice-hockey is for Finland...

I personally couldn't stand the idea of having an odd amount of RAM
What you mean by "an odd amount of RAM"? I first got one 512 module and then i later bought one 1024 module. Is it good to have an "even number" of RAM? I mean 1gig, 2gigs, 3 gigs...

Thats nothing to do with Sygate (not directly at least), its an, AFAIK, important Windows process (something to do with the Windows Management Instrumentation service that Windows says shouldn't be stopped).
Yes i know that, but it only runs because of Sygate. It wasn't running when i got 5.5 version.

what operating system you are running
I got XP Home (SP2). I would prefer 1Gb memory module, but they are a little bit expensive and haven't found used ones.

When you go to the safe mode, do you log in to the same account, as what your user account is?
When i start up my computer, it goes straight to my user (my name) account. If i choose safe mode, i got option to log in either to my user -or to my Administrator account.
