Hi
I have installed skype in the sandbox to try the program and found 101 registry keys under the skype name, after I deleted the sandbox.
This program was never installed on this machine before. I thought that when I use the sandbox there should not be any sign of a program installed in the registry M I wrong?

When discussing anti-malware you'll often see us mention MBAM on this forum, and many others as well - it's that good!
Spybot-S&D and Ad-Aware simply aren't needed anymore with MBAM or SAS installed!
Hi Andavari
MBAM and SAS in their free versions are not with real protection , is`nt it a disadvantage ? is on demand scan sufficient?

New version of this great little program can be gotten here
http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptreplicator.asp
I just installed it over the top of my other version and had no problems running a backup afterwards, it saved all my settings and jobs.
Hi Hazelnut
Does the program compress the back ups?

Glarys has a higher chance of false positives than ccleaner.
While it may find more invalid entries it may also incorrectly identify valid entries.
Where as the above users have said, CCleaner takes a safer approach, with few false positives reported on the forums.
They have a back up option for the temps cleanning in case that something goes wrong.
-
It's looking in different places?!
This is what it looks for:
-
Any reason/logic why Glary utilities find`s much more temp files to clean up than Ccleaner?(no offence)
-
You're welcome.
If it finds a key you don't recognize, you can double click on the entry in regseeker and it will open the native reg editor to that key, so you can see more about it. Also, it offers several options on a dropup (is that a word?) list from "action" there at the bottom, you can export it, delete it, etc.
I must confess that all I ever do with it is look for anomalous entries, then sometimes back them up and delete them, one baby step at a time. I don't know enough about the business to do much more than that.
No, never have had a wrong key deleted...baby steps...very afraid of that registry. It is unforgiving.
Should have mentioned earlier that ERUNT and NTREGOPT are indispensable for backing up the registry first, but I assumed you knew that. In case not, they are here.
Edit: Sometimes regseeker finds a word buried up in some key which I don't recognize, like a startup key if I remember correctly. In that case I just leave it alone. I would rather have an unused registry entry than to take a chance. If it is malaware I would just leave it to the experts.
Thanks again. My idea of using that tool was to clean up what revo uninstaller "missed!?" but now it sounds more like playing with a bomb with out me knowing how I will end up.....so I rather count on revo uninstaller to make a good enough job as this program never messed up my computer, and if it did not deleted a registry key , it might be very well be because it is a shared one....(by other programs)
Thanks again

Thank you for your links.
I have noticed that reg seeker finds keys, that I would not be able to find through the regular regedit, as it does not show by it`s name, in that case I would have to trust Reg seeker that it does a correct job...Did you have any incident with the program deleting a wrong key?
Thanks

Hi
I`m looking for a free program ,better than the windows xp regedit function ,any suggestions?
-
I`m on version 3.5.0.32 and see there`s v4.0.0.10 availiable, when i try and install it i get an error message saying " You must be logged on as an administrator when installing this program"
excuse the lack on knowledge! but I thought i was !!! does anyone know in windows XP where i should be looking to make certain i am an administrator!!
I`m sure that if you ask that question in their forums they will help you with that issue , IMHO the are very good with supporting their products :

1) Do you still have to uninstall the old version and loose your configuration settings to install the new version?
2) When I tried it in May of 2008, I had problems on two XP systems with it crashing explorer.
Has anyone else had this problem then or now?
Edit: Explorer crashing may have been caused by Comodo Firewall not fully uninstalling all remnants of the program.
Backing up what Abu Aufa said, look in to the following Online Armor Forum thread from the fourth post and on:

If you read the post on the Malwarebytes' forum it details all about it.
In a nutshell if they make their database super difficult to unlock not even MBAM itself would be able to access/read it. Still though they ought to be able to somehow lock it away from snooping eyes, especially from wannabees that can't make their own legit db.
I have read the post but I still think exactly as you mentioned in your last sentence`s post.
-
Assuming the accusations are correct, it makes me wonder how such a reputable company as Malwarebytes ,with such an experience as they have in software security, failed to avoid this allegedly criminal offence from happening to begin with ?

Hi uno, I think quite a few people on here, including myself, already use this program, but thanks for posting, because I'm a bit behind with my version.
I'll be updating to V 11.04, so thanks again for the link.
There is no V11.04 the latest is V11.33, please see as per the above mentioned Uno`s link from Sysinternals/Microsoft Technet.

I need a media player for my computer, but I have had no experience with any of them. I am wondering what is recommended by others who have more experience.
I would personally recommend winnamp 5.56:
I`m using this video/audio player for quite a long time with no problems here.

I use Avira in my main PC and Avast Pro in another one.I have 3 PCs.
Since you are the user of both AV ,I take the oportunity to ask you if you have noticed any advantages of one upon the other? I personally use Avast .
-
Thank you for the link. BTW , couldn`t help seen that you are using two AV: Avast pro and Avira, aren`t you having any clashes between these ? It is known that you are not supposed to use more than one AV in one system!

this is newest free version ABS.Older version doesn't include "print & design " feature
I already installed it and uninstalled the older (6.75,6.76,8.04).
Nice UI improvement.
Thanks for the info .
-
This is my top Favourite. Its faster than CDBurnerXP.ABS took 6 minutes to burn about 450 MB of MP3 while CDBurnerXP ..16 - 17 minutes and need more times to verify.
Here's the step :
1. visit : http://www2.ashampoo.com/webcache/html/1/t..._5928_2_USD.htm and fill it
2. check your inbox that contain confirmation link and get the key
3. Download ABS 2010 ,here
4. use your key in installation
5. done
EDIT :
Faster loading
UI improvement
Hi
Abu aufa, what is the difference between this version you linked and the 6.75 or 6.76 of the newer free version?
Thanks
