  4. In Winapp3.ini, why is [QuickLaunch *] considered dangerous? This feature was removed in starting with Windows 7. There is a procedure that permits users to add the Quick Launch bar back in, but I suggest that 99.9% of Windows users do not add it back in. I recommend the name should be [Quick Launch *] because Windows does not refer to it as Quicklaunch, but Quick Launch. I suggest that the code below be added to Winapp2.ini. I am assuming that DetectOS=6.1| means "Show if Windows version is Windows 7 or later". [Quick Launch *] DetectOS=6.1| Section=3024 Detect=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer Default=False Warning=Do not activate if you have manually re-implemented the Quick Launch bar in Windows 7/8/or 10 FileKey1=%AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch|*.lnk

  6. It might be appropriate to start a different pinned thread on the forum for Winapp3.ini so that users now and in the future do not get confused between what's what and mistakenly grab Winapp3.ini and run it. If you do start a new thread, perhaps you could/would move all previous posts concerning Winapp3.ini from the Winapp2.ini thread to the Winapp3.ini thread. And all the necessary warnings about Winapp3.ini should be part of the first post in the new thread. JMO

  12. If you delete the Installer2 folder, you will no longer be able to uninstall the Nvidia software via Control Panel> Programs and Features should you ever need to manually uninstall it. This does NOT mean that you cannot update to a newer release of the Nvidia software when a newer version becomes available. Also, if you have deleted the Installer2 folder, you can re-install the same/current version of your Nvidia software to rebuild the Installer2 folder so that you can use Control>Programs and Features to uninstall should you need to. Personally, following an update of the Nvidia software, I always delete the Installer2 folder because of its horrific size. Have done this for years and years on all my systems and have never encounter an operational issue.
  13. The new version appears to have corrected the clipping issue. Have not encountered any issues or failures in the new version thus far (Download, Merge, Trim, cciniDebug, WinappDebug, Exist used/tested).
  14. Merge error in Winapp2ool.exe Attached is a pic that shows that the Merge process in Winapp2ool.exe is clipping off lines at the end of the Merge txt. This is 100% repeatable on my Windows 10x64 Pro systems.
  15. I agree...please add option for "old advanced summary every run".

  18. I added a ; Version by Tom comment line and the MERGE worked perfectly. I MERGEd, TRIMmed, WINAPPDEBUGged, and CCINIDEBUGged all in one round.....everything ran exactly as designed. So your "idea" as to what can cause the exception is correct.
  19. And !!! Thanks for the new update and enhancements in winapp2ool.exe. It's turned into a very powerful and useful tool for users of winapp2.ini.
  20. This applies to Windows 10x64 Pro Insider Build 17115.1, V1803 and the latest winapp2ool (Run as Administrator). When I attempt to MERGE my custom.ini with winapp2.ini, I get an exception error. I have attached the Event Viewer errors. 4.7.1 .NET Framework is installed. EventViewerErrors.zip
  21. Modified Entry: [Corel Downloads *] Changed REMOVESELF to RECURSE because of the volatility of the DetectFile which can cause downloaded files between TRIMS to be left on the system. 24. Then why make a separate entry? Just leave them in [Windows Logs *] and state that every time a person runs CCleaner, the system should be rebooted. I would like to know what entries in CCleaner (unless you are referring the Advanced category) and Winapp2.ini require a system reboot because I am totally unaware of that requirement on certain entries.
  25. I do not understand how the users of Winapp2.ini are expected to know that when [ WDI Logs *] cleans these files, they need to restart their computer(s). If the computer needs to be rebooted, then perhaps Winapp2.ini should not have [WDI logs*] included at all.
