Can you use system restore to go back to before your problems began?
Also run your virus and malware scans just to be on the safe side.

Have you checked in c/windows/system32 to see that services.msc is still there?
Could the file associations be a bit mixed up? If so there is a reg fix for .msc files here.

PS: Why do you accept a sponsor program so many times the size of the actual software?
I suppose MrG thought it would help pay for the work and upkeep of this FREE software he kindly provides us with.

If you right click on your start button and choose properties start menu, customise you may be able to see if some options have been changed in there, eg how many are listed in the number of start menu items under the general tab.
In the advanced ( be careful, and remember what you do) does anything look obvious?

Perhaps you have a friend who could download the installer for you and tranfer it via a thumb drive

I am afraid that the beta link is what you get, a beta, no slim build.
Don't worry about the yahoo toolbar even though in the EULA you have to agree to it, because after you agree and click next, you are asked if you want to install it or not.

Before downloading ANY software it's always wise to read the whole page.
On this page you only have to read the bottom half a dozen lines to know what's what.

There is no need to go into the options and select the cookies to delete, the process of analyse and run cleaner will do this.
This is really just an area where you move items from the "cookies to delete" side to the "cookies to keep" side so that you don't have to log onto forums you go, to such as this one, as you have told CCleaner you want to keep the cookie.
When you say you are selecting the cookies and then moving them over via the arrow to the delete side, this must mean they were in the "cookies to keep" area in the first place?

All you have to do to delete cookies that are listed in the cookies to delete section is to open CCleaner, and you will see the big paint brush is selected, just press the analyse button and then the run cleaner button.

Have you actually used CCleaner yet and it hasn't deleted your cookies, is that what you mean?
By the way, you could have a read here, most things apply the same but I'm sure there will be a new one when the beta version comes out of beta.

In your opinion, which of these two is more straight forward and easier to use?
Also, I had posted an earlier reply to rridgely about "movie" burning software, but as yet have not received a reply back. Other than Ashampoo's Burning Studio, do you know of any software that will work for this purpose -- movies -- not video images?
Tom, the combination of shrink and decrypter does the whole thing. Once set up via the guide you put in the discs (original and blank) and at the end you get a copy without having to do anything else apart from saying what you want to copy.
Unless you only have one drive and then you will have to swap discs in the middle.
I have never seen this before!

Have a look here Beatlebryce to see if anything here can help. If not, I can recommend the system restore forum mentioned, they are very good, I have used it myself when needing to reinstall system restore for someone.
