The Speccy v1.06 release is available now and includes some great enhancements as well as resolutions to some known bugs and issues.Changes include: Major rewrite of Hard Disk interface detection. Improved Network section (DHCP status, IP address, NetBIOS status). Improved Graphics Card detection. Fixed bug that could cause some Sound Cards to be ignored. Minor tweaks and improvements. Today marks a milestone in the Defraggler product history. After nearly a year of development and testing, we're proud to release the first test version of the new Defraggler v2.0! This new release pushes the capabilities of Defraggler far beyond any other free defragmentation tool, by offering complete offline defrag during the boot process with full OS support. Additionally the UI has been improved with a new Drive Map and customizations. We've also rearchitected the internal defrag processes to make it faster and more efficient! This is a Beta version, so we don't recommend it for general usage just yet. We're confident it's bug free, but please only use it on test systems until we release the final build. Web browsers are taking significant steps forward to be the center of our activity when we use our computers. You may use Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Opera to send emails, write letters, do online banking, or any number of applications that used to be installed on your computer. Some Web-based applications are going to be able to work offline – even when you're not connected to the Internet. That means you're going to be storing a lot more data on your computer. CCleaner is here to help you manage that data. Web Storage Cleaning Since all major browsers now support local storage for Web applications, we've updated CCleaner to give it the ability to clean all or portions of that local storage. The browsers themselves don't have very good facilities for deleting the local storage, so we highly recommend that you use this feature in CCleaner. In the past, data recovery programs have had the problem of potential destructive recovery. For example, if File A and File B are both deleted but accessible on your drive, recovering File A may involve overwriting the 'free' space taken up by File B. We recommend that you recover files to a different drive than the one they were deleted from. If you don't have that option, you can now recover images to the Windows Clipboard, which means there's no risk of overwriting other files still to be recovered.
