    Recuva v1.32

In this new release of Recuva we've optimized and improved a lot with new our new internal testing systems. Including a new portable U3 installer and better exFAT support. The mildy sad news is that we've had to drop support for Windows 98. The benefit of this is that we can remove the old compatibility code we had to write to support it. This code slowed down the program on newer OSs. The end result is a more compact, faster, fully unicode (and 100% Windows 7 compatible) Recuva! The full change log is below: Improved analysis of exFAT drives. Added U3 portable installer. GUI fixes for non-standard DPI (large fonts). Improved error messages for files that cannot be overwritten. Dropped support for Windows 98 to improve performance. Fixed bug in language selection. Minor bug fixes. 7. Defraggler 1.14 is a small release with two important changes. We've improved one of the ways Defraggler works, and we've added a new feature. Recycle Bin emptying - It's always wise to empty your Recycle Bin before you defragment. Not only does this free up space on your hard drive, but it gives Defraggler more room to move and reorganize files for optimum speed and efficiency. Defraggler v1.14 now automatically prompts you to do so. Improved Master File Table handling - The Master File Table (MFT) contains an index of where your files live on the hard drive. By nature it's fixed, and Defraggler can't move it. With this program update, Defraggler handles the files located just around the MFT much more efficiently, so you'll be able to access those files faster in the future. Download Defraggler now! Here's the full list of changes: Added 'Empty recycle bin option' before defrag. Improved placement of files around MFT. Fixed incorrect defrag button behavior (defrag checked and highlighted while using tabstop). Fixed crash occurring after pressing defrag button. Fixed tab order on cleanup drive dialog. Added Run Defraggler option after installation. Added Estonian support. Download Defraggler v1.14 today at www.piriform.com/defraggler. Want to keep current on all new releases? Recuva v1.31

Elton John may have sung the virtues of a Pinball Wizard, but we're going to start touting Recuva as an email wizard. The word is spreading that the latest versions of Recuva can be used to recover deleted emails from Thunderbird, Outlook Express, and Windows Mail. That's right - even if you deleted an email from your email program's Trash folder, you should be able to recover it with Recuva. The main change for this release is that we've added support for email recovery right in the Recuva wizard. On the File Type pane, you'll see that you can now select Emails as a type of file to recover. As a quick recap: When Recuva finds deleted emails, it gathers them up into a compressed file (called 'Thunderbird Emails.zip' or similar, depending on your email program). You can unzip this file, which contains the emails as .EML files -- one for each email. Most email programs enable you to re-import these EML files. Even if you don't use the Wizard, you can still search for deleted emails by selecting Emails in the Filename or path drop-down box. Give it a try! The full change log is below: Added email recovery to Wizard. Improvements to Thunderbird email recovery. Improved handling of very large exFAT drives. Various stability fixes in 64-bit version. Updated installer to allow Recuva to run at the end. Added Estonian language support. Download now from www.piriform.com/recuva. Recuva v1.30

The previous version of Recuva brought recovery of deleted emails for users of Mozilla Thunderbird. With v1.30, we've extended that support to Outlook Express and Windows Live Mail. Normally, when you delete an email, it is moved into the email program's Trash or Deleted Items. But what happens when you empty these and then need that email back? No problem - Recuva's got you covered! If you're using the Recuva Wizard, select "Other" as the File Type. In the results window, switch to advanced view and select Emails from the filter drop-down. If Recuva has recovered deleted emails, they will be contained in ZIP files in the form: Thunderbird emails.ZIP. Restore this ZIP file, and you'll find your deleted emails, sorted by folders. The emails are in the .EML format, which most email programs can read. Double-click an EML file to view the email in your default email program. Depending on the program, you may also be able to import the EML files back into the program's database. The full change log is below: Added recovery of emails from Outlook Express. Added recover of emails from Windows Mail. Added 'Email' filter. Fixed bug that could cause secure delete to fail in list view. Various bug fixes. Download now from www.recuva.com. With this latest version of CCleaner, we've added support for cleaning the new Taskbar Jump Lists. The new results window has been fixed and improved - a lot of feedback and suggestions came from our users, and we really appreciate that! 18. Perking right along through the heat of summer, the dev team has released the latest version of Defraggler. We've got a couple of new features, performance improvements, and the usual bits and bobbles. 1. Command-Line Quick Defrag The last version of Defraggler (v1.12) introduced Quick Defrag, a drop-down selection in the main Defraggler window you can use to run a much faster, though slightly less efficient defrag. For those of you running Defraggler from the command line, you can now instruct it to use the Quick Defrag option. Here's the syntax: df.exe [file or filemask or folder or drive label] /QD To see all of the command-line options, type df.exe /? at a command prompt, or see this topic: http://docs.piriform.com/defraggler/advanc...line-parameters 2. Folder Index entries Microsoft Windows stores information about files in folders in a hidden file called the folder index. For example, if you create a file in a folder, that folder's index will contain the filename, creation timestamp, an archive bit, and more. Advanced users may want to view folder index entries in the file list viewable after you analyze a drive. To set folder index entries as viewable, click Settings, then click Options?€? On the General tab, click Show folder index entries in file list, and then click OK. The folder index entries will show up as [Folder Entry] in the list. Download Defraggler now! Here's the full list of changes: Added quick defrag to command line version. Added option to view folder index entries in file list. Fixed bug related to excessive GDI objects. Fixed tab issue in search tab. Improved speed of moving very large files to the end of the drive. Several minor bugs fixed. Download Defraggler v1.13 today at www.defraggler.com. 20. We've made a number of changes to CCleaner in this new release. Some you'll notice up front, and some you won't see at all. They're designed to support more software, provide more operating support, and help you get the most out of CCleaner and your PC. When you click Analyze or Run Cleaner, you'll see a new Results panel. We've redesigned the Results panel so that you can see an overview of files by application and details on each file to be deleted. You can also sort the list, search for specific items, and export the list to a text file. We think you'll like it! We've also added better support for Opera 10 and Safari 4. Recuva v1.29

The latest version of Recuva (v1.29) brings support for new applications and file types, and improved support in other areas. First, we're pleased to announce that Recuva now supports Mozilla Thunderbird. If you're using this excellent email program, Recuva can restore any emails you've deleted by mistake - using the same interface you're already familiar with (just do a normal scan and look for a file called 'Thunderbird_emails.zip'). The emails are restored as .eml files, so that means attachments are also recovered. If you're a pro (or prosumer) photographer, you'll appreciate Recuva's new support for the Nikon RAW image file format during the Deep Scan process. Also for those of you using exFAT for flash drives, we've improved Recuva's support for this Microsoft format. The full change log is below: Added recovery of deleted Thunderbird emails. Added support for Nikon RAW in Deep Scan. Improved support of exFAT drives. Improved recovery of JPG images from NTFS drives. Various minor tweaks. Download now from www.recuva.com. 22. 1. Quick Defrag Defragmentation is a great way to speed up your PC, but it can also take a fair bit of time. If you remember to start Defraggler before you go to sleep, you'll have a faster PC in the morning. If you run Defraggler (or any defrag program) while you continue to work, though, you'll notice a slight decrease in performance. Now there's a way for you to do a faster, less involved defrag whenever you want. Introducing Defraggler's Quick Defrag. When you use the Quick Defrag option, Defraggler will operate about 3-4 times faster. The compromise, though, is that it won't use the most intensive, optimal algorithm to reorganize your files. Defraggler still works the same way. Once you're ready to defrag, either click the Defrag button, or click the down-arrow next to it and select Quick Defrag. Download Defraggler now! 2. exFAT compatibility If you use the new exFAT file system for your flash drives under Windows Vista SP1, you'll be pleased to know that Defraggler now has 100% support for exFAT. Here's the full list of changes: Added Quick Defrag feature. Added exFAT compatibility. Architecture changes to improve defrag performance. Improved placement of most commonly used files. Various UI tweaks. Download Defraggler v1.12 today at www.defraggler.com. Want to keep current on all new releases? Sign up for the Piriform newsletter while you're there. View the full blog post
